Hi all,

Thanks for a warm welcome (I hope) to the forum. I am Chris, from the UK but soon to move to the Netherlands in 2016.

I am nuts about aviation, and always have been. I got my PPL when I was 21 (thats a long time ago) but it lapsed, I hope to re-instate it sometime. For the moment though I am learning a lot about sims and building cockpits.

I don't know anything (really, Nothing!) about electronics, but I am looking forward to learning. I have build a basic cockpit using Saitek panels and P3D and realised you have to have a lot of patience to make things work ;-)... more required now. I have built a 737 pedestal, bought the panels from pro sim parts and I have the boards and switches etc arriving from open cockpits. I really have no idea where to start so I am reading a lot!

I have an open cockpits MCP, but I suspect I will replace it in the fullness of time and I am on the lookout for a MIP.

I have bought a pedestal board, a master card a display card and some switches with the hope to build a com radio as the first part of my pedestal and to get me started with the build. I hope my new parts from open cockpits will arrive this week so I can start this weekend. I am currently researching best ways to do it and best power supply for the pedestal... thats my job for this week.

I use P3d and PMDG 737 NGX but I hope to move to pro-sim soon.

I hope to speak to you in the full course of events, I am sure I will need a lot of help...

All the best

Chris

If you move out to the Netherlands you will be more local for the largest flight simulation event at Lelystad!
