Hello everybody,

I almost spend a whole day for programming what I now use to call 'JeeHell Instructor Panel for WideFS' and am proud to release it to you! :)

The idea:
Like most of you guys, I was searching for a way to implement failures into JeeHell's FMGS. Until now it was only possible to shut down an Engine by just switching it off - this wouldn't even trigger the ENG FAIL ECAM procedure but the ENG SHUTDOWN. Also an ENG FIRE was only possible by holding down the fire test button (ouch, my arm...).
So I accepted the challenge of building something that shuts off systems or triggers certain actions from outside the cockpit. As far as FMGS permits...

How it works:
The solution is quite simple. Almost everyone is using WideFS - and if not, it's not hard to start doing so. WideFS contains a great feature called 'Button Screen Facilities'. It let's you create buttons that trigger button presses of virtual joysticks in a connected FSUIPC.
These button presses can then set offsets and can also be conditional (so you can't switch smth on, that is already running etc.).

Features:
- Completely integrated into WideFS
- Opens up automatically when connection established
- Features 4 general JeeHell Sim controls
- Features 39 different malfunctions - all mixable
- All actions conditional (so you don't switch smth OFF that's already OFF or get out of the loop with toggle switches).
Most of the malfunctions just switch OFF the respective system (i.e. ELAC 2). But some of them actually trigger the correct failure, like ENG FAIL i.e..

How it looks:
Here are some screenshots of some of the pages. Have a look:

Looks nice, doesn't it?
I personally love the ENG malfunctions aswell as the Loss of Cabin Pressure because it happens silently.

Download (v1.01):
https://mega.nz/#!ihYT3ABD!fG0hBGqw7US6VE8xboo3PimjR2b_Jddj-EIWz8y1CX8

Installation:
- Download the package above. Extract the files in a temporary folder.
- Replace the Button Section of your FSUIPC.ini (FlightSimFolder\Modules) with the content of the 'CopyToFSUIPC.txt'
- Replace the User Section of your WideClient.ini (WideClient Main folder on the Instructor PC) with the content of the 'CopyToWideFS.txt'
- Resize your Wide FS window by editing the last two values of the' Screen' parameter. A window size of 1000x700 should do it!
- Done
Note: If you already use the button functions of FSUIPC or the Button Screen Facilities of WideFS make sure not to overwrite your existing buttons and no button numbers are used twice!

Have fun!

Please tell me how it works so I can make adjustments or improvements!

Best Regards,
Martin

Glad you like it.

I updated to version 1.01. Was just a bugfix for the ENG FAIL Buttons. They now work as supposed. Link is updated in the top post.
For those of you already installed v1.0 - just replace the whole sections by the new ones! :)

@jehell: What are the offsets for the IDG Disconnects? I remember I saw them some time, but can't find them in the current offset list.

Regards.

Thanks Martin for your update.
I will test 1.01 later when I back home.
Just a question on v1.0 last night I have tried press Eng fail or some other failure buttons, however nothing happened. WideFS Connected already.
So a video tutorial on how to use your Instructor panel will be great :)

There you go! :)

PS: Actually the reason why the procedure wasn't shown at the end was not that we were on the ground, but because I never completely finished the engine start sequence (should've startet Nr.2 aswell, disconnect HP air, IGN NORM and all bleed valves on norm).
Then it will also trigger the ECAM "ENG FAIL" procedure on the ground! :)

TOO FAST on making a tutorial video. GREAT !!! Thanks captain.
Will try again when I back home.

Hi Martin, unfortunately I do not have a registered version of WideFS so I am unable to try out your program -- however I have mentioned and linked your program on the website -- http://flightsystem.wix.com/airbus#!Jeehell-Instructor-Panel-for-WideFS/c1d1w/55a995730cf22effe2df4867

I have just tested some failures with a Vietnam Airlines A321 pilot, and he said WOW, Ecam actions are exactly same as FCOM/FCTM 8-)

That will be great if Martin can develop more failures for Jeehell FMGS

Cheers,
Vu

Is there any chance to run it on master PC? without using Wide fs?

Thank you so much!!!, I have one guestion. My friend is a Professional pilot of A320, he says that the engine failure is available for :

-ENGINE OUT WITH DAMAGE(It should show in ECAM Panel and the procedure)
-ENGINE OUT WITHOUT DAMAGE (It should show in ECAM Panel and the procedure)

Hope you can help us!

Thanks in advance

@masterp
I didn't "develop" the failures - they were already there. I just created this GUI where you can trigger them.
So it's on JeeHell to eventually develop more of that later.

@SimStar001
You definetely need WideFS. You can run WideFS on the Master Computer but you need it there too.

@alejomic12333
There's only the ENG FAIL procedure within the software now.
See answer for masterp.

Martin

Hey Martin, I tried to run it on server PC, but problem is, that wideFSServer is running there and due to this, WideClient could not be run at the same time. Thas why i am asking for.

So I will prog an App for MAster PC maybe

is't possible to return to normal state after press failures ? like engine failures etc

Unfortunately not - you have to restart an engine or the systems yourself...

Hey Maddin,

unfortuantely I'm not able to see it working :-(

WIDEFS connect, I will see the buttons in WideFS window, if I will push a button and I will also see within the FSUIPC button section window the change to the referring offset of the pressed button - but nothing happens. I'm using a complete FDS cockpit with all panels connected over hardware manager. Could that be the problem - maybe the software will overwrite the offsets in each polling cycle of the hardware state of the panels?

Ups, I have no Fsuipc Support for the jeehell software On the Main Server installed- I think that should be the Problem......

Could you please confirm ?

Hi,

I honestly don't know (didn't have time to check). But I guess maybe some offsets have been changed. I will check and inform you when I come up with a solution (which shouldn't take tooooo long because I have the instructor station running at a simulator).

Everything works great as before. Sorry :D

Hello great tool, works perfect for me. A question: Most of the failures lit the "off" light instead of the "fault" light thus not generating the respective ecam action. Have I done something wrong? Thanks a LOT!

The tool of Maddin just to turn some button to OFF only for ECAM working.
May be JL can confirm if we can get the real failure without "OFF" light.

I tried to arm failure in FSX's menu but it has no impact to FMGS

Is there any chance to get it running without WideFS (or is that WideFMGS of JL?)?

I dont want to pay for WideFS... Then I can buy a better one

You will find WideFS pretty invaluable. For example, I also use it with TOPCAT to load fuel remotely into the aircraft.
