Hi,
Am currently having a new computer built, and changing the OS from XP to Windows 7. I am in a bit of a quandry as to wether I should have a Windows7 32 or 64 bit system. I want to run FS9 as well FSX. The builder says to use a 32 bit system, but looking at various forums on the issue, there seems to be conflicting opinions on the matter. Any thoughts from users would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Neil

Win 7 64 bit.
Recommend an i5 or i7, clocked as fast as you can get. Either straight up clocked or overclocked.
If you overclock you want an after market cooler like Cooler Master Hyper 212.
8 GB Ram.
250GB solid state boot drive for the OS and utilities.
500 GB solid state or 1TB 7200 rpm drive for the Flightsim/games install.
nVidia Video Card anything in that is x60 series or higher.
Example: 660, 670 or 680
760, 770, or 780
960, 970, or 980
Personally I usually go with the x70's as the performance increase for an x80 isn't worth it to me.

Hi Fess,
Thanks for the only reply. I have gone for Windows 7 64 bit. Have an i7-4790K CPU, Asus Z97-Pro Motherboard, a Gigabyte GTX970 card, Kingston HyperX Blue 8 GB Ram

Neil,
Sounds like a good setup.
Now you can look forward to a month of tweaking and installing add-ons for FSX.

Then, maybe you can make a flight. :-)
