Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help me please. I am having significant networking issues with Jeehell and I'm quite certain it's down to my stupidity. My slave laptop initially would only connect for a short period of time and after a complete re-install on both computers I can't even get my slave to connect. Can anyone please explain from start to finish the method of networking 2 computers? I'm currently trying with a homegroup using windows 7. I've searched the forum and can't find this information anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks Neil

Do you have added firewall exceptions?
DO you have given local fixed IP adresses?

First,

search for cmd in windows(start menu) an the server pc.

Then tap ipconfig. serach for IPv4-Adress, beginning with 192.

This is the ip that you have to enter on the clients.

yes , i tried doing that , i put 192.168.1.100(taken from cmd) across both clients WIDEFMGS folders , widefmgs.ini file, but it didnt work , i even tried after disabling firewall

do i have to manually define each screen that i am running ?

or just putting the ip in the widefmgs do ?

I think the problem is firewall or antivirus.

You can try if it work by disabling firewall on both pc .
If you have strong antivirus like avast then turn off it and try.

I have the firewall turned-off in my configuration

Go to cmd -- type "ping 192.168.1.100"
Do you get a response?

Hi

i'm having similar issues with the networking. (Running one server and one client PC)
As with mrinalthakkar I can successfully ping both computers from each other and all firewalls are off yet still the jeehell apps on the client PC don't register with the server PC.

Ive tried a dedicated switch just for the two pcs and also wirelessly through the home network yet still no joy....

Do you have a antivirus program/suite?

Uninstall fmgs across all PCs

assign permanent IPs using DHCP function in your router

reinstall FMGS , on server PC , install FMGS server conponent , on client PC do not install server component

insert ip into client PC , and you should be up and running

Hi,

@asessa

I've disabled all av and windows firewalls across all pc's before attempting to connect.

@mrinalthakka

I'll give that a go and report back.

Hi.

Unfortunately still not working....

In summary:
1) I have disabled all A/V and firewalls before attempting to start server pc and client pc
2) Assigned static ips to both server and client
3) Server and client can successfully ping each other
4) Both server and client have the same navdata

Problem i've noticed

- Configure.exe is not keeping the information i enter with regards to the IP addresses...

For what it's worth, I had issues with bitdefender firewall recently. This is not necessarily the same issue you have, but it was kind of annoying, to the point I had to uninstall bitdefender altogether.
The firewall built in security suites is not always working correctly (same as windows default F/W by the way...).
In the case of Bitdefender one, even if I deactivated the F/W module, it would keep my computers from being visible one to the other.... (probably because of a WiFi/cable mix in the network, but still..).
SO REALLY BE CAREFUL with firewalls.
Issues I had with default windows firewall were I needed to delete an app already approved to reallow it to make it work (particularly on reinstall of the WideFMGS software).

Hi

I tried a different FS gauges software across the same two pcs with the same IP settings and had no trouble with getting it up and running... so the pc's are communicating with each other
really annoying as I want to use JeeHell..

I will try a clean re-install on both pc's.
