Since version A320FMGS_B33 we have a "new model" a320.

I made first corrections in the model in 2012:
- Plane doesn't move at iddle at p/b ON.
- You need to add power to taxi, then just iddle.
- The N1/EGT/N2 on ground are the same as the real.
- Fuel flow - like in BADA Performance Summary Tables.
- Correct value of trim during the final approach.
- Correct value of pitch for flaps 3 and 4 during the approach (FCOM).
- Standard GWPS in FSX/P3D is turned off.
- Many changes in response to deflection of the control surfaces.

Now we have more improvements.
- Improving the "feeling" the aircraft, with direct law.
- Changing in table 341 to remove oscillations of the elevator.
- Changes in the cargo/passengers (aircraft.cfg).

We can use TOPCAT now!

This should be included in the new model which can be downloaded here -- http://www.jeehell.org/A318toA321.zip

Hi,

Thanks for your contribution. :-)

Two questions:
1) I tried for the first time yesterday to load a non A320-214 plane with FMGS. In the MCDU it still showed A320-214. What is the correct procedure for loading this?

2) After installing the profiles in TOPCAT I tried to create 3 new planes in PFPX. The only "TOPCAT" module I could select was still the A320-214. Any clues on how to resolve this?

You should copy the files to:
\FMGS Server
and
\FMGS Server\PERF
Then in "APFBW" select aircraft and reload.

I don't have PFPX ;-(

In relation to TOPCAT - There are Configuration files and Aircraft files.
For the A318, 19, 21 do you still use the A320-214.acft file from the TOPCAT/Aircraft folder?

The files like A320-214.acft are some binary format - apparently the V-speeds etc.
(This is actually the selection also seen in PFPX when linking to TOPCAT.)

I have vroute premium.
It is enough for me.

Yes, I know about it. Unfortunately, these files should be prepared by TOPCAT author.

hi tom,
i address this to u but am not sure it're related to the flight model.
the more i fly this model the more i've the idea that on takeoff roll with crosswind the aircraft tends to go A LOT nose into the wind.
we all know that it's the correct behaviour of a liner to go "nose into the wind" when experiencing crosswind takeoffs... but it seems to be really a lot.
of course it depends on lot of factors like GW and so on.
i usually have a GW around 65 tons on takeoff...and with some 10-15 knots of crosswind components which is FAR from 320 limitations it needs a lot of "kicking" to keep the centerline.
all the real pilots flying my sim noticed and pointed this out.
rudder is correctly calibrated in fmgs with not too big dead zone.
am i the only one feeling this?
all the best

I have also experienced this -- in fact, not only nose in the wind, but nose in one direction (aircraft rolls to the right) despite head on winds.

Hey Omni
i have the same thing. What i thought is that this is because i don't have the trim on my setup yet.

Greetings Daniel

hi tom!
updated yesterday evening to 38.9 with latest flight model...did u already work on the behaviour with crosswind? i saw some differences in aircraft.cfg about rudder effectiveness...and behaviour seems better (just little crosswind yesterday to judge)...what i can say is that now single engine taxi is MUCH better than before!!!

only "missing" thing Tom: after engines are started with aircraft stopped on ground the FF of engines should be around 400...it's still around 800....which is not a real value...anything u can do about it?
when my friend modified the .air he achieved a FF of 428 but his mod air is no more usable since u changed the flight model and i have to use your new file :)
thx

Jeehell changed the rudder (aircaft.cfg). I have worked on elevators (airfile).
Regarding FF: I remember that we have worked with FF. I have a lot of emails ;-)

The latest model with FF=428.
This requires further testing... :-)

FF is equal 428 when the plane is not moving (on ground).
Unfortunately, I do not know how to fix it.
Only one person knows the solution:

filippoporcari

tom that is a known limitation of FS way of handling engine's data. i think the only workaround is building from scratch a custom engine model (!!!) like pmdg or flightsimlabs do.
btw your solution is more than enough for us i think: after engines start we have a consistent value of 428 to perform pre flight checks! no one will scream if during taxi the FF is not at 428 when engines are in idle :)
thx a lot for your work tom

Hi....i have topcat with you configurations, but i have a problem. With TOw 68 ton conf 2 CG 29% i have vr 145 , but i pull sidestick and plane still in ground. He just take of at 162. This is normal,? i don't think so.
In your opinion would be the problem? I have FMGS 39

What's your Trim TO setting?

Valerio,

filippoporcari
05-30-2015, 09:03 AM
valerio he wrote CG 29....on airbus better to set CG than a trim figure...apart that i don't know if trim effect is implemented in JL...it wasn't till latest versions...not sure about v39...as explained by jl putting a trim (cg) figure doesn't change aircraft behaviour at rotation.

I always set a trim Pup on TO and have observed when this on is set toi low, the bus does not rotate when expected.
It's just observation.

Valerio,

filippoporcari

i also put a trim (cg) figure just how it is in real life...but i just reported what jl stated many times about trim: not implemented.
i don't know if things changed in v39
cheers
