Attention all CNC-less builders!

For too long, we have forked out 50s on hole saws!
The oppression ended when I was walking down the isle at Harbour Freight.
I found this amazing little $6 device:

This Adjustable Circle Cutter is PERFECT for 1/4" plywood or MDF. It goes anywhere from 1" to 5". The bit can easily be replaced, and the carbide tip blades can easily be removed and sharpened.

The only thing to be wary of is to make sure you always drill on the same side, as it makes quite a mess of the exit hole.

I've already drilled the holes for the ADI and HSI on the captain's side panel, and I'm quite satisfied.

I just had to share this discovery with the public.

I bought one of these back in 2008. I found it very un-accurate, as either side of the cutters needs to be exact to get a perfect cut, the cutters blunt quick, and if used with a hand drill, one slip and your hand is mush, it comes across to me as a very dangerous tool and I am scared to use it. I don't like the center drill piece as its a too bigger drill piece as when through the wood the cutter wobbles and you have to keep the drill dead straight to get a firm downward cut. It scares the living day out of me. I still prefer CNC by a long shot, but I am glad that you have had excellent results, just shows how bad I am with power tools haha!

It's intended for use with a drill press. When you use a drill press, it works great.

Found it quite hard placing my Cessna MIP under a drill press, hence went cnc!

I would use a CNC if I was willing to spend that time or money on it. I split my MIP into several parts that will come together later on.
