So im trying to get started and unfortunately I cannot find the iocards software ver 3.2 download. it is no longer located on opencockpits download page. They have ver 3.4 avail but u cannot install it unless you have 3.2 installed. Really all I need is the controller exe so I can figure out which inputs and outputs are which. I will be using sioc when everything is up and running. eventually. Could someone please help.

Ok so my issues get worst installed the latest version of sioc only to find out it does not support port connection only USB. And seeing a new USB expansion card is not in the budget and I cannot download an older version from opencockpits.com I ask this. Does anyone still have a version of sioc that would support par port connection who is willing to send to me for a download. For now I'm dead in the water..

Geoff thank you so very much. You don't happen to have a link to an older version of sioc as well? one which supports parallel port hook up. I belive the last ver that supported it was 3.5. Thanks again and happy holidays to you.

Hello djcevera20

Here is Sioc_37B1.zip (http://www.hoddo.net/external/Sioc_37B1.zip) which seems to be the latest 3.X version.

Not sure if the LPT interface still is there..

so after some tinkering i still cannot get the controler.exe to recognize my master card. I have tried each available mode in my bios for the parallel port and when i start the controller program it says parallel port disabled. its wierd because i had this card working back in 2009. is it possible that version 3.2 does not support parallel port connection and that the version i had previously installed back in 09 did? another thing to note is this master card while running on all of the same hardware at the time was running on a xp based operating system and now i am running windows seven.

Hello Tim

Take a look at this thread (http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/showthread.php?t=22127) - some talk about the challenge
with Win7 and LPT driver. Maybe the Win7/32bit version works though.

I would suggest to invest in an USBExpansion board or roll back to WinXP.

Went to install the xp pro last night and yup that's right couldn't find my cd so I ordered a parallel db25 to usb cable. my question is has anyone successfully used on of these or is a usb expansion card a must have? I am currently in the process of getting another copy of xp pro sp3 while I wait for the cable.

I strongly recommend to use a usb expansion card. The use of the parallel port is obsolete and no longer supported by Opencockpits SIOC.

Hello nico I was wondering when you were going to hit this thread you are a legend around here. You were a huge help to me when I first got this going years ago, so thanks again. I know the usb expansion is the way to go I was just trying to get an idea if my cards were still ok (been in storage for a while) before I go ahead and spend the cash on the expansion card. wanted to know if anyone had success with an adapter cable simply to see if the cards still function.

I see. Well these cards are very robust; as long as you keep them away from water, they will still work, no problem :-)

I have rolled back to xp pro and finally got around to some testing. cards seem to work unfortunatly i cannot get anything to work thru sioc. i can get results using the iocards exe. but nothing thru sioc im sure im missing something but i just can not remember. im running sioc 3.5 seing that i am hooked thru a parrallel port for the time being. does anyone have any suggestions? it may be a config issues but i dont remember enough about it and unfortunatly like nico said before. lpt is out dated but unfortunatly i cannot afford an expansion card at this time. so if anyone is still running old lpt hookup or just remembers a thing or two about the older sioc i would greatly appreciate any help thank you in advance.

eureka!!! i got it to work....thanks to my four year old son. he ran up to me and showed me a drawing he did. he said see dada i put the sign in brackets to make it stand out...it was only then that i realized i left the master card declaration in my config file in brackets which was preventing it from being seen.
