Don't like the fastening screws of the panels and the fact that all overhead panels are the same color.
For the rest, great panels

Hi Tiburon,
thank you for your comments, we are still under development stage and as you know the overhead is not released yet, we will bring out 2 versions of the overhead, full grey one and the normal Grey and white, prices will be extremely lower than the market prices and that's for sure.. :)

any more comments are welcome and much appreciated as it does help us to improve our product and make them better for us and everyone .

many thanks guys

Sam.

Great. One more question : what is the thickness off your panels ?

Bassam45
11-12-2013, 09:47 AM
front and back panels are 3mm each, so that's 6mm in total. any thing else just let me know. thanks

Hi Sam,

I am very surprised by the quality of the panels. But when I took a closer look on the overhead panel I see that it is not that accurate as Flyengravity for example:

- Looks like the font needs bigger or the font itselve is not right. example the word ENGINE START is on the FE and the real panel more to the left.
- The placing of switches etc is not good, for example the R WIPER knop is right above the left starter switch. But when comparing with th real panel the R WIPER must be between the left starter and both L R starter switch.
- Also on the real and FE panel i see the taxi light just left of the L wiper switch, but on your panel it is exact underneath the switch.

Why is that?

Regards,
Raymond

PS: I used this picture for the real aircraft OH: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Gol-Linhas-Aereas/Boeing-737-8EH/2223812/L/&sid=104bf5427e7f921287d77c030a8697c3

Also, you made a little panel for the ground power, in reality this is just a black sticker.

Bassam45
12-09-2013, 07:52 PM
hi, thank you guys for all your comments, i really do appreciate all those information, i have to say, for someone to compare my overhead with a real one to that level of details is an achievement for me, as you can see from the overhead pictures above, we have added few more details to it such as the ground power and the 2 index to lock singes, we have made them of plastic and laser engraved them instead of using stickers, guys you have got to remember, this panel is still under development and as i progress with it thing will get better and better, one thing to remember though, every manufacture has its own design and quality, as i always say there are no 2 the same overhead made by 2 different companies!

take a look at the best overhead available in the market and compare it with the real one, i guarantee you will spot alot of differences and that's the way it goes, the reality of it is that no one can or will make a real overhead panel, we could only look around for the best we can find without braking the bank !

Few companies has come up with close ones but for what they are asking i would rather buy a Car and keep the change !! :)

many thanks guys and expect new updates and more product form us (without braking the bank)

Sam.

Hi, one little criticism : the blue annunciators are not actually blue, the light behind it is.

Bassam45
12-13-2013, 06:17 AM
Hi Tiburon,
that is correct, they LEDs are Blue and not the Annunciators, the customers will be supplied with both annunciators, normal ones and blue ones, this way, they can chose what to use.

i just think the blue annunciators add more to the look of the overhead.

many thanks for your input.

Sam.

Small update, We have changed the fasteners on the MIP, We have colour coded ones now along with counter sunk ones where possible. We think this makes the overall MIP much nicer than having the stainless steel ones that stuck out a lot.

I think that what you are doing here is such a positive step forward for those that want professional looking parts at great prices in the UK without having to pay the heftier prices by the bigger companies that only think about their pockets and money all the time. Time is expensive and I hope you are rewarded for the time and effort you have put in to your sim hobby business and it will only get bigger as people spread the word (like on here/youtube). You definitely have the edge over many other companies not just because of your excellent panels and prices but for your 737 saitek throttle parts that no one else seems to do in the UK and the fact that you don't charge much for them. You will not be beaten by price, I will promise you that. Keep up the good work!

Thank you. That's exactly the direction we want to go. Great quality yet great affordability, It's such an expensive hobby and not everyone has the deep pockets to shell out a few grand on a complete overhead panel etc.

As to the saitek throttles I've yet to find another person doing them. We are currently working on the CH throttles at the moment. We have samples sent out to customers that are using CH once we have the correct fitment these will go into the production which will be exciting stuff!

Thanks for the positive feed back we really appreciate it! At least we know we are going in the correct direct!

Hey, Great stuff, I'm happy that we have satisfied you enough to keep coming back, That means we are on the right tracks with customer service and great quality products. With regards to the throttles yes that is one of our goals, We are aiming to end up with making and selling everything that's needed for a complete cockpit.

Also here's a few pictures of what we can do at the moment.
Please note we have done an update of the white panels of the overhead, We have made the lines thicker, Will get some fresh shots of those up later on today.

If our panel overheads are a little out of your price range how about our printed overhead panels?

Our printed overhead panels are a tough durable print on top of a white 5mm thick plastic sheet. Can be easily cleaned too.

We have different versions from all switches being installed and knobs all the way to no knobs or switches.

At the warehouse we have been working on our V3 overhead, It's going to be made from 5mm materials for that extra added realistic feel. Also we are thinking about a 1 piece backing panel either made from 3mm or 5mm we are not 100% sure yet.

Take a look at these pictures are let us know what you think? We are also building our new cockpit in our warehouse which is really exciting and we are going to be using all Cockpitsimpart parts!

Great ! The extra thickness gives it a much more realistic look.
The CVR though is only an alu plate so it's not as thick as the other panels.

Yeah diffidently a more professional look to it! Thanks for that we shall see what it's like with the CVR panel being thinner!

Update.
We have released the Boeing 737 v3 overhead. This overhead has the thicker more durable plastic. Backing plates are 3mm and the front panels are now 5mm thick giving it that WOW factor!

We currently have 1 in stock ready for dispatch straight away! £399 BARGAN!

Hello all,

I have the MIP and the overhead and have to say that they are top notch!! Thank you, Sam and Cockpit Simparts!!!
One fledgling question --- is there a link to a thread on wiring it anywhere ( specifically to a BU0836X ) -- Is that card sufficient? or does one need something more ? I have basic electric skills but need some guidance on wiring and how they connect to the card -- and how to make the LED's respond to alerts etc from the sim ( I use X-Plane 10 but also have FSX to switch to if need be for 737 compatibility, etc. )

Thanks in advance !

Asif

If anyone could point me to a thread I'd so appreciate it!!

tiburon

The Bodnar card has 32 inputs for switches so no, one card is not sufficient. I have connected every switch and needed 4 Bodnar cards. Connecting is dead easy : for every switch connect one pole to gnd (Ground) and the other to a numbered input, ie nr. 1. If the switch has more poles connect the middle to gnd and one pole to a input and the second to another input (so you don't use the ground for that input). Rotary switches connect in the same way.
For leds you will have to use an output card, for example the Phidgets led 64 advanced.
If you want to make the leds and switches behave in an airplan-like fashion you additionally need a program that interfaces your input and output cards with your airplane.

Hope that helps

Martin

Martin!

That helps immensely!! Thanks so much! I may be back for more questions...but, for now, I can get it going... cheers!!

Hello all, I have been away for a while and had the time to come on here. Good to be back though and Sam, I was very impressed with the quality of the MIP I purchased from you. I also bought the throttle quadrant levers and I remember asking if the decals came with them, to which you said yes. I was meaning the flaps decal and was a little disappointed when it was not included. All in all, good quality levers, cheers. I have just ordered a full set of TQ decals from a sim builders website, so all is good. Keep up the good work.

The only thing I have found so far to be an issue, was that I ordered a full set of annunciators that are ready built with LED'S and circuit board, some of the single units needed a very small amount of packing to fit snug, and the landing Gear annunciators were all on a fixed board and won't fit in the plate because the holes don't line up.

Well...some of his decals are exactly the same as the ones on Rudy's site, which are of course freely downloadable.
I'm not accusing anybody but take a look here : http://www.737ngproject.be/liens.htm
The Aviation Megastore in my country is selling these decals as well which is a bad thing IMO.

Ah right! He did state that they were properly finished though, which I suppose would save me the bother of printing on special paper with adhesive backing and cutting everything out.

That you! We are still working on those, They are not straight forward, Most of them are completed there's a few we need further work with the gears and the amount of teeth each gear have to make it move the correct distance and return etc.

No, and I do appreciate that not everything is compatible. I thought though that annunciators would reflect the same dimensions as the real aircraft. The module that I bought came from Sismo, a complete unit, jus one of those tings I suppose.

No need, I am hoping to be able to buy the actual Landing Gear lever soon, so that should come with the face plate. Thanks for the offer though. I have just tried to insert an image of the measurements but the box won't load on here so I can't.

Ah I can see now as our LED boxes are 22.3mm x 9.5 at the base, Then open larger at the top at 25mm x 12mm to hold our annunciators that are 24.6mm x 11.5mm.

That's fair enough! The A320 market could pay dividends as not too many suppliers on the market!

The dummy FMC looks really smart Jeordan.
Is it delivered with backlighting?
i only ask as I see over at hispapanels that installing led's on their panel looks very tricky!

http://www.hispapanels.com/cabina737/paneles/pedestal/fmc/fmci.html (http://www.hispapanels.com/cabina737/paneles/pedestal/fmc/fmci.html)

I immediately thought it must be more sensible to buy a cheap illuminated keyboard for less than £10 online and modify it. Not only would each key have a light, but with a bit of though it may be possible to use the key switches and possibly remap the board.

What do you think?
