I have a reasonably fast PC i7 930 OC'd 3.8 but with only GTX 285 video card installed for the main display. Hoping to use this available projector for a single
100" flat ( maybe curved) display. Will be adding a monitor or two to run instruments with Project Magenta so will add a second 285 or just buy the one 670 card .

Will this Projecotor work??

Hi,

Probably not.
You can calculate picture dimensions vs. "throw distances" at this site:
Sanyo PLV-Z4 Projection Calculator - Throw Distance and Screen Size (http://www.projectorcentral.com/Sanyo-PLV-Z4-projection-calculator-pro.htm)

Usually a short throw projector is what is optimal for FS.
= Large picture at small throw distances.
If you have a cockpit shell anything other than short throw is not possible as the shell will cut out the picture.

For the named projector you will need to place it 13.5 feet away from the screen to obtain a 100" screen.

Thank you for the reply Bjorn

I will likely not go 100" diagonal screen in the beginning, I have a spare 80" screen so 11 feet throw, which I have , should suffice.
I was more concerned about the ability of this projector to display a reasonable image from a PC. My room will be very black as there
are no windows or other forms of light to pollute the area. I will likely upgrade to two short throw projectors on a curved screen. Not sure
how much of a curve is possible on a 7' wide area using two projectors, I will research that soon as well.

thanks again!
