I cannot find a way to get my Open Cockpits NAV and Com modules backlighting to turn off when I power down the engines and shut off the avionics in FS9. The rest of my cockpit lights shut off but these modules stay on. Any suggestions?

That's because the backlighting is powered by the 5 volts USB port of your motherboard. Even when you turn off the pc they probably stay lighted unless you turn the power off in the BIOS. So short off snipping off all the leds (which I did) and making your own backlighting there's no solution.

So they have no capacity to control the LEDs via SIOC. My other modules from go flight and flight illusion have the capacity to turn on and off via the status of flight sim. Even the display digits turn off on the go flight module via the master avionics switch command.

The lack of lighting control for OC modules is a disappoinment. The OC module quality in every other category is much superior to the other brands I have used.

Ill try cutting the backlight LEDs as you did, though that wont turn off the display LEDs when the cockpit is dark.

Ah, no but you can control the displays via SIOC, mine are dark when there's no power on the aircraft.
So there's still a little hope.

I was afraid you might ask that. I really don't know any more than the official Open Cockpit sources and documentation on their website which is not extremely helpfull I'm afraid. Maybe someone else knows more about this ?

Their translated documentation does leave a lot to be desired. But I love their hardware.

Would you consider posting your SIOC script that controls the display LEDs?

I would if I could but I had a little mishap with my fs pc about two months ago and the HD with everything on it was ruined. I haven't flown in 2 months.
I know though that when you download and install SIOC there's a lot of scripts and templates for the modules included, I think (not sure) I used one of those.
