Flight Illusion FFB 737 yoke

Hi

I am in the thoughts to buy thise yoke but I need more info first so some question bellow:

1.)
Has the unit any connection to fsx just through FSUIPC, can you describe how it works, short please?

2.)
Can you tell what switches the unit have and its pos at the yoke?

3.)
I am a strong man :) so can I change the ffb strength, how hard can the strength be, in both axes?

I have look for reviews but I cannot find any! :(

Sorry, that does not make sense. If you have already asked FI then why are you now asking question 2?

I cannot give you a review as i have never owned one. However i have had the pleasure of a short test fly and i can tell
you that you should look at what Ian at Buggiesforfun site. I built ians one and compared to FI one i am glad i did'nt buy
their one. My flight was a short one but long enough to satisfy me i bought in my opinion the right one.
David is correct as something like this can be very subjective. One thing i found very dissapointing in the FI FFB was the
real gritty feel the Elevator had when not powered. The bearing They used were not to my liking.
I know the Owner of Ruscool Electronics in NZ has had a good evaluation of the Fi FFB yoke and a try of Buggiesfor fun FFB
and he preferred the Latter(email John for his opinion,i dont think he would mind)

As side point, if one had to fly with this one unpowered the movement is very silky smooth.

I am glad that you reply because I have been looking att Ian:s kit :)

Can you tell how it was to build the yoke from Ian? Its a nice price for the kit :)

I now that I need a yoke handle and buttons so what yoke did you use fo the build?

If I buy it can you help me with tips and some instructions, if I need it, please?

A few Tips,
I built his one from the plans(wood),if you go this path then Accuracy is of the Utmost importance.
This a powerful device so be wary of it. If you are a beginner get some help.
Ians Kit is made of Metal so would be the best way to go.
He is very helpful and being the kit maker would be the best person to quiz.
I dont know your level of Electronics or mechanics but be prepared to have someone local to help.
It isnt for beginners, but a very worthwhile addition to ones sim.

I have not so much experiences of thise type of build with electronic but I have knowledge of electronic in general :)

The hard bit is to find the yoke with buttons and switch to trim etc. etc.

I have look for a suiteable yoke all over the internet but I cannot find any?

What yoke handle do you use?

Regarding the FI ffb yoke compared to Ian´s one, is it any diff in performance between these too?

I can consider the FI one if I find the Ian´s units too difficult to get function, in that case I need to know:

Can you use a ffb yoke without power? I have had the Saitek flight pro yoke 2 years ago and the chaft was not smooth when you was steering!

Is that what you mean above?

How was the FI unit when you tested it with power?

I ask these question because you have tested the FI one and I canbnot find any review out there! :(

1. PTT and Trim switches.Please read description on their site,it also shows the pic.
2. Power is adjustable and very similar
3. Sticky feeling when unpowered and fine movements would be similar to a Saiteik.
Couldnt test properly powered due to a kicking action(maybe a fault in Unit).
Thats about all i can add so hope this helps.
