Hi Guys,

I recognise that this is a software question, but posted here as it is the foundation of my bigger project.

My plan is to ultimately build a 737 cockpit, starting simply and progressing to a real life model.

I have read at length on this forum and others about the actual FSX software which people are using.

Could someone please clarify the software components that I would need to give me the best outcome using FSX.

I am thinking of taking the PMDG route, so am I best using the 737NG or the brand new 737NGX sim model?
On top of this, what is the use and significance of Project Magenta, ProSim737, SIOC, FSUIPC, WIDEFS.

Many, many thanks for your time in pointing me in the right direction to understand this architecture.

Kind regards,

Steve

Hi Steve,

I am not sure if this answers your question, but take a look at this thread:
http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/showthread.php/24295-Confused-about-software-why-use-other-software-than-fsx-or-xplane?p=129610&highlight=#post129610

I was confused about software and the flightmodels but now seem to understand how all interacts and what options there are .( too many :) )

Thanks Killerbee, I think I am gathering more of an understanding of the software architecture and options across multiple PC's.

I have just ordered the second PC to compliment my main FSX PC and to allow me to explore software distribution options.

I will, undoubtedly, be back for more guidance when I run aground, but for now, thanks very much.

Kind regards,

Stephen
