Hi All

Just a few pictures of the G1000 developed over the last 12-18 months together with Leo. I always like to post a few pics here first as this is where I got into this hobby and learnt so much from the community.

Every single button, encoder and even the map joystick is interfaced. Every push button is individually CNC machined, precision painted and Laser engraved to produce real back light text on the face of the button, and can be adjusted for brightness.

I hope you like.....

Thanks
Steve:)

Hi Sam

The units are individual HID Devices, so windows sees them as MFD / PFD / Audio Panel. That way they can be configured to almost any software.

I really like the Flight1 Tech G1000 for Microsoft FSX and FlyThisSim for X-plane based. They would also work with Mindstar I'm sure.

Cheers
Steve

Hi Steve,
Another well done job, right in line with the excellent job you did on the GNS530.
I see from your decscrpition you machined and engraved buttons. Do you intend selling these items
seperately?. I see a few people requesting where to buy. So you could have a secondary market there.
Keep up the great work, im sure it will be appreciated by a great many builders.

P.S Finally finished the GNS530 you provided the PCB for. I didnt use the the supplier you listed for the 3d panel.
Instead i used Shapeways in Netherlands. Not quite the quality finish you had but only 25% of the price. Very Pleased
with the results.
Thanks for all your guidence.

Hi Steve, I am in the same boat as you regarding the G1000 systems, but I have a different MFD to yours, as I am currently building a cockpit based on the F1 Cessna Mustang. All the buttons, back lighting I can do easily with my laser etc, but there's one thing that I can't do like you, which is create the dual knobs, as I don't have a 3 axis CNC machine in my workshop. So like the other members here, I would also like to ask, do you intend in selling the dual encoder knobs etc as a kit form or something at a good enough price, if not then, I'll just head on over to opencockpits. I am using the ALPS dual encoders.

PS. Those TFT screens are a crazy price compared to the bigger sizes you can get for the same price. I don't know why 10.4" screens are so damn expensive.

Also, great work. They look exactly like the real thing !
