I'm working currently on a Freeware Stand-Alone Electronic Flight Bag on the Boeing 777 - style for Fs9, FSX and X-plane. The current state can be seen here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jvs1t1v-Ng&feature=youtu.be

A first Downlod will be available in 8 to 10 days. At the moment I am working on the MovingMap and the TCAS - system.
The program can be used on the network or Single-PC and is optimized for touchscreens operations. It can be used also in the Homecockpit.

Suggestions and criticisms are welcome.

I'm looking for more details of the original EFB by Boeing. For the 757, I have found a manual for the 777 only some images and YouTube videos. Does anyone have info or links, vieleicht also a manual, training video or something similar?

Hi,
Looking very good, pity its not for the 737....
A few spelling mistakes, when you chose the airport you spelt unknown as unknow.
You also spelt length, frequencies and preview wrong on some screens.
Cheers,
Allan.

Hi,
It looks really good, even though im not a heavy metal flyer im sure i could put it to good use.
Maybe it could be adapted to be more of a general EFB. Keep up the good work, its really
has potential.

"...A few spelling mistakes,..."

Thank you. Have corrected it.

"...adapted to be more of a general EFB..."

The EFB is planned mainly for my 777 cockpit. Therefore it is based on the original Boeing EFB.

Wow, this looks very nice Peter. Have you thinking to make it work also with ipad? Is it possible to use via keys, if no touchscreen?
Keep on good work.

Ipad version isn't planned also no-one android.

Without touchscreen the program can be used with the mouse or a touch pad. There will be keyboard and joystick support to be able to use it with external hardware (Bodnar, OC cards and more).

Peter, this looks very promissing. Building a 737 myself and having acquired 2 10.4" TFT screens (800x600) I was planning to use one as an EFB screen (the other one will be lower EICAS).
At what resolutions are you thinking for this program? When you want to use a moving map all the (downloaded) pdf charts will have to be calibrated. Any ideas about that? A must have to find your way on large airports.
BTW, love the piano music (what is it?). Is this an extra option for long flights?

I have made a little web page for the EFB though in German. There is a first download also. A really more useable download can be found on this web page as of next Monday

http://boefb.webnode.com/

The program is in comparison with the above posted videos already considerably improves. The Relase is planned for the first week in May, I have vacation there.
There also will be a version in the Tablet PC style

Very nice!

As a b777 builder I sure am looking forward for the update on this.

Have tested the 0.6 version and it is looking real promising.
Placed in the proper place in my b777 cockpit it fills a big ugly gap :p

Keep us updated!

The GA and Airbus Version of the EFB 0.7 is online

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clkFaXyGHAI

The Download is here http://boefb.webnode.com/

This is an update. BoEFB must be available. The two files hPad.Exe and Pad.Exe simply copy in the BoEFB folder and then starting BoEFB, hPad or Pad alternatively.

BoEFB is the BoeingStyle EFB, hPad ist the Program in the Video above.

For running on Ipad or Android Pad (with "Air Display") is the Pad.Exe (frameless, maybe for Laptop to)

http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/8718/padn.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/842/padn.jpg/)

Made EFB Checklists:
preparing a new folder in the data/ECL folder who is called like the check list (PMDG 737 or WILCO A340 or ...or...). Making simple .TXT files in this folder.

For every checklist (Befor Starting, Starting . . . ) making a TXT of one's own and typing in the data or c&p from the original HTML Aircraft Checklist. The first line starts normally. All other lines must start with @ . At most 16 entries per check list are possible; only 16 buttons are available in the EFB. Please split longer checklists (Starting 1, Starting 2 ...).
Writes the names of all the checklists into a Main.TXT-File without the .TXT but with comma between the names and without Enter. All name must be in a single line. like: Bevor Starting,Starting 1,Starting 2,Taxi,

Have a look at the sample checklist for the FS2004 default B58 in the \Data\ECL Folder.

Have you installed the Adobe reader? Where exactly does your BoEFB folder stand and which Windows do you have?
I cannot cause the fault. I get an empty screen but no error message even if no files are into DATA/DOCS. I suspect this your Adobe reader is faulty or too old.

I had written it on the web page but only in German:
For the PDF shows the Acrobat Reader is necessary. However, he doesn't have to be the standard PDF reader, installed only.

Have unfortunately forgotten to write this also here. Excuse me

You have nothing to excuse as I’m more than happy that someone is taking time to make this application that I have been missing in my B777 sim-cockpit.
I’m the one to be sorry as I guess there to be some problem on my part, but I really do like what I see so far and love to have it working properly :-D
Everything else are working properly.
Finding the fault might be of use for you and others, if one can determine what is wrong on my side.
The BoEFB is on the root of my C drive: C:\BoEFB\....
I use the Acrobat Reader version 9 (and have run a “repair” on it, just in case) on a 32bit Windows7 (newly updated) on a laptop.
The entire fault dialog as follows:

I will remove the Adobe Reader X (10.1.3) and install the version 9. I can possibly reproduce the fault with that.

@Allan: Again thanks for your corrections. This helps me very much. Will correct it. I am grateful for every reference to spelling mistakes.

I have a week of vacation as of tomorrow, I will deal with the problems there. The EFB is losing the connection to the simulator at the moment certainly after some minutes. However, I think to have recognized the problem. The project has got considerably more complex than planned. Men and her play instinct . . .:oops:

I just downloaded this magnificent software, planning on running it on a 768 x 1024 touchmonitor, portrait mode. I have two more monitors on this computer, without touch.
My problem is, it opens across two monitors, half of the EFB on each monitor, and I cant drag it or in any way place it on the correct monitor.
What can I do?

You need Screens with 768x1024 at least for the EFB. The EFB works with Touchscreen or Joystick or Bodnar or other Joystickcontroler but no Keyboardinput. You can run two or more EFB on the same PC. But each uses its own database. I have build a Copilotversion thats have a common database with the Captn.-EFB.
This weekend I upload a version, which is still unstable in many areas. Only for the try. The Copilot version is part of it.

Such a nice piece of software!!!

I have made a couple of checklist, you can include them of course if you want to: http://www.anderssamuelsson.se/filer/MOD_ECL.zip

I've noticed a couple of things too. 1) When trying to shut off the voice in the "Ipad"version it keeps on talking. Not sure I have the latest correct version, My german isn't very good :)

2) I tried adding some charts which worked lovely until I came across an aiport with many charts. More than 14 approaches for instance. I tried to solve it by adding some folders under the airport, i.e. ILS and ILS2 This worked pretty good but then when I pressed the STAR button nothing happened. It seemed as if the number of buttons (ILS, APPROACHES, ILS etc) could be increased but only a fixed number of them could actually be viewed, that is the six first.

But this is still an amazing piece of software and I am really happy you have made it available to the community!

skino

Thank you for your nice words.

Unfortunately, the link works not.

The ' iPad ' version is very old. I've put them online to get feedback. When the software reaches the next level comes back an Airbus (iPad) version.
There are still many bugs in the current version but I'm working every day and it will slowly but surely better and more stable.
For the chart database, I work out just a solution with 2 additional buttons, so large amounts of data can be divided. Just as at the long checklists. The project has got considerably bigger and more complex than me have suspected.

Ha kul med EFB. ;)

[QUOTE=skino;140135]Tool for the chart management. Comes with the next update:

Hi Skinno,

Thanks for sharing this great program. I haven't been able to update since just before the wind update. I'm not sure why. Is the proper procedure to download and re install the entire program for each update? I know this sounds a simple question, but the update page doesn't seem to work for me.

Hi birdguy,

The update is always the complete new program. Just download, unzip and run the CpEFB or FoEFB exe. Enter your data and you're done.

This is the last version with wind forecast and Taximap, both still work in progress:

Download BoEFB.zip (http://www.2download.de/download-55b0dce57b47df0013b6bfdfd5636f3f.php.BoEFB.zip#.UYZwVduQx7t)

I'm looking for just an other hoster, because this shows too much advertising lately.

A new version with approximately 50 charts and the ChartBuilder tool comes in the next week. Probably next Thursday, there is a public holiday in Germany and I have time for the upload.

After the major update from 4 weeks ago, I have again added an EFB in the iPad design, since for example, Quantas uses for its Boeing aircraft Ipad EFB.

Qantas is Launch Customer for Boeing OPT for iPad (http://www.aviationtoday.com/av/topstories/Qantas-is-Launch-Customer-for-Boeing-OPT-for-iPad_77213.html#.Ul-tu-FfZBO)

and United Airlines uses this variant:

United Airlines deploying iPad-based electronic flight bags to all its
pilots (http://www.theverge.com/2011/8/23/2379313/united-airlines-deploying-ipad-based-electronic-flight-bags-to-all)

Original:

and "Fake":

http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/9498/nuhb.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/543/nuhb.jpg/)

The download can be found here (http://goo.gl/lxBG2C). Requirement is an existing version of the EFB. The current version of the September 7 2013 can be found here (http://boefb.webnode.com). Copy the PadEFB.EXE in the directory of the EFB. Then either start the CpEFB.EXE or PadEFB.EXE. Both access the same data and settings, are therefore not separately configurable.

This is only a design variant and can not be used on an iPad!

There is still much to do. Unfortunately, there are still many errors. But it goes on.

Anyone downloaded the file yet. It appears to have a PUP installer which Malware and Anti virus flags because it wants
to install additional software. One would have to disable these to install. It appears to be a download manager.
Is it all ok.

Peter what is music you use to accompany your video?.

Music: "The Moon In Flower Looks on Silent Night" by Patricia Spero (Youtube Musicpool)

You must download the file ZIP, not the file EXE! See picture in post #64.
