Looks good, I wish I had those skills.
I have a problem with patience, I will start a job and half way through decided that something else needs doing, I also never plan and make it up as I go along. I am surpised I still have all my fingers.
My pit is 25% filler to cover the dodgy woodworking BUT even saying all that it is looking better than I expected.
Allan.

Freakin' awsome man! Do you build it by drawings to?

Cheers,

HI guys,
thanks a lot for your help you know that i got the plan from ian cameron and decided to re-draw the TQ from scratch and i finally made it.
i also did the connection with micro switch, sliding potentiometer but the final connection is not really made. i'm planning to get the TQ finish
by next year, and also need to finish building my shell too. you know that patient is part of my life here if ever i want to do or build i will do it no matter what. Timmi as i said every little bit of this TQ i made myself took me a lot of time i was also surprise by the job myself and very happy that i also can do it. i will post a picture of my first cockpit from biginning when i decided to build a 747 400 but retracted afterwards
nowi'm very happy from what i'm building now and hope to get the result i'm expecting in the future.

thanks to all of you

Hey guy... Very good your job!!

I'm building a Leajet 45 home cockpit. I'd like make a question for you: how did you make the reverse of your throttle? Pushbutton, potentiometer?

With pushbutton I can't adjust the sign to the FSUIPC to set reverse open through the pushbutton.

Thanks
Rafael

Hi Rafael

Thank you, well for mine i'm using two micro switch that i install inside the throttle handles i don't know how is the learjet TQ looks like but i think it can be done to yours too.

Hello.

I was trying to find a throttle kit for the 767, I came across your posting. First I would love to have the plans. Next is how do you connect this ? USB I suspect, if so how many? Thanks in advance. Tony viceroy1927@cox.net

Hi tonytor53
I'm just making a new THQ for my cockpit. I looked at what's available and thought I can make it cheaper than that(£2500-3000) so I'm making a real high quality unit

All aluminium except acrylic light plates
motorised throttles
motorised speed brake
aluminium gears
all switches function, i.e. trim cut off, fuel cut out, A/P cancel, TOGA
All backlit
rotary pots on all functions except reversers which have linear pots
runs from USB ports for feedback and motors, levers calibrate directly from Win/FSX as a joystick
needs 12V for backlighting, output card for annunciators

since I have to set up my CNC for 1 I decided to make 3 units and will be selling the other 2, probable cost US $1300+shipping as I need to recoup the materials money and I need to buy parts for my O/H and pedestal5859
I've attached a picture of the last throttle I made (non motorised) but the new one is far superior to this.
If you want the plans for the one in the picture I've got the Autocad drawing. If you don't have Autocad you can download many free ".dwg" viewers from the internet which will allow you to get the dimensions from my drawings. the measurements are taken from a 25 year old 767 . You can get the photos I took of this cockpit by joining this group. you can get full drawings of nearly all the cockpit there also.
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/b767homecockpitbuilders/
you can then download all you need for your cockpit and get all the info you need from the guys there
let me know if you need anything else
kind regards

Great!
Just curious how you made the autothrottle. I am planing on using Arduino stepper control motor. Any hints?

thanks

Hi Sergio
haven't got that far yet. I made a small mockup to test the theory. I used a Velleman 8055 card to give analog inputs for the position pot and analog outputs to drive the DC motors directly. The output of the 8055 drives a H bridge controller to provide the higher currents necessary. For software I used simconnect, if you can write C code you can use the FSX Simconnect to extract the throttle position. I then used that value with some C code to make a feed back loop of the throttle setpoint against the value of the throttle actual position pot. From this I generated a 0-5 volt signal to send to the H bridge controller to drive a DC geared motor forward or reverse which travelled until the actual position matches the setpoint sent. Works OK as bench model. Need to determine motor size to drive the actual throttle lever. Maybe I'll need a clutch but I'm thinking that it's possible to leave it directly connected as the gearbox acts a sort of force feedback which can be varied by putting a small voltage on the motor. Still under development.

Do you have plans for this throttle. It looks great. If you had a cad or pdf file, it would be great.!

If you fixed the angles on the levers and the base you will have a killer throttle there!
