Hi,

At this moment my specs :

i7, 870 OC till 3.7Ghz, 8mb ram, HD 6950+HD 5770 GPU's crossfire, p55-gd65 mobo, samsung HD (465GB) ATA, ST3500630ATA HD (runs fsx, 930GB). My FSX frames and graphics are not bad, but not WAAAAW !

I wonder if i can improve performance and graphics by adding a WD VelociRaptor 300 GB hard disk ?

Regards,

Marc.

Have you made any cfg tweaks or played with your GPU settings? A faster hardrive will improve loading performance but your system should make FSX look great as is. Check out this link for the Jesus tweaking tool, it will make a huge difference if you haven't already tweaked your cfg file.

I've already tried lots of fsx tweaking without major succes, Shawn. Don't believe in fsx tweaking any more a believe fsx performance is completely depending on hardware.

If you haven't tried Jesus's tweaking tool you should give it a go, you might be surprised at how well it works? or it might not do anything for you but it only takes a few minutes. When you run your cfg file through the tool it tells you what tweaks it has performed and what settings it suggests you change. If you want to try the new cfg file it creates you can download it and try it out, you can always revert back to your original cfg file.
