View Full Version : Project Magenta - Flight Director moving from side to side!

The flight director suddenly started moving from side to side with any roll mode engaged (it's very jittery). The pitch bar works properly.

And no, it's not because of weather/bad setup/bad flying ;)

The strange thing is, when I engage the autopilot, the FD turns to normal again. No more jittery movements. Just regular FD behavior.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'm using FSX and the full PM package.

Have you run this pass PM support?

Seems to me like a good place to start.

Yes, I have. But I'm not getting any response. It's been almost two weeks and two e-mails now. That's why I tried it here.

Small update: The vertical (roll) bar is constantly to the left now. No matter what roll mode. If you steer towards it, it just stays to the left.

I always have the same problem with the Beta AP. After take off I climb manual with a V/S of 2500 - 3000. When I activate the AP I get a V/S of 4000-5000, but I set 2000 in the FCU (CPflight). The V/S set in the FCU I get after a few seconds. The problem is that the speed gets too low with that high V/S. This problem is only with the Beta AP, with FS AP I dodn't have this problem, but the FS AP is not that soft that the Beta AP.
I installed the PM FCU on another PC and there it seems to work, but at my last flight a had the same problem.
The problem I have since the Beta AP was available

My System:

FS2004 (9.1)
Airbus A321 (IfdG)
PM GC, FCU, MCDU, PM Systems) (actual build 333)
latest version of FSUIPC and WideFS

PM now have their own Forum. Maybe worthwhile posting in their forum?
Sorry I cannot be more helpful than that. I use PM and have never had the problem you are experiencing.

Personally I never have encountered this problem but usually "pm" support is good and they should be able to resolve this.
