Gidday all,
Been building a new sim, Beech Baron 58 it is going to be fully enclosed in a car body and I am going to have 4 DOF motion. should be completed around the end of the year. Panel is nearly done, wiring next then it will be fitted to the car body. This is my 4th motion sim. Goto http://homepages.woosh.co.nz/cwarner/flightsim.htm for details on the old sims.
Cheers

A Car Body, wow that's innovative! I'll be interested to see how it progresses. Looks great so far!

I'm in the process of retrofitting a 172 fuselage as a flight sim. But as I do it I am fast becoming a Baron fan on my desktop pit. When I started the project I had it in the back of my mind that I would make the Instrument panel and controls generic enough to also emulate a prop twin and the more I enjoy the Baron the more I am convinced that's the way to go.

Would be interested in more details about the gauges your are using. I'm about to go glass for cost reasons but would really prefer analog gauges in the long run.

Looks great, the other projects also. How have you built the GPS, which can be seen in the pictures above?

Gidday, I have 2 x 19 inch and one 15 inch monitor behind the panel, with some dual head Geforce cards and a play with the panel CFG file the instruments fit where I need them, there is 37 instruments there and unfortuanately I cant buy seperate instruments!
THe gps works the same way the buttons just sit away from the screen and I have a way of making rotary knobs work wihich I will post a photo

Gidday... I would have loved to get a real aircraft... that is the ultimate! however, budget project and all I bought the car for $200 and got that back when I sold the engine!
I see where you are coming from with the generic bit, with a change of gauges and sound and side views I can make this a B58, King air 350, 737-400, DC3 and an extra 300 just to push the motion platform to its limits.

Well done. I like the use of the car body. The seats have to be more comfortable than my ejection seat. :D
