My Throttletek 737NG Throttle

I have had a few people ask me to post pics and review on my throttletek
quadrant so here we go.

Ordered - 22/1/11
Recieved - 2/3/11 (approx 6 weeks)
Cost $810 USD (£519 GBP at the time)
Custom charges to be paid on collection - I cant remember exactly now but
around £20 - £40.

The ordering process was easy,just remeber the charges and delivery have to be added for a final figure,Roberto kept me informed all the way,tracking via parcelforce uk.

The throttle was packed well but to my dissapointment the speedbrake
lever was snapped and the centre part between the levers had a minor part of
the paint chipped.

I contacted Roberto from throttletek who sent out a replacement lever which was recieved on the 2/4/11 (no custom charges) and the paint chip could easily be
resolved by myself. I have a tin of grey,black and white humbrol model paint
at the ready so i can mix to the right greys for different items if needed.

The set up i struggled with and contacted Roberto for help.
Roberto was only too willing to help,we met on skype and he talked me through
all the process,hows that for service,there was a misprint in one of the docs which has now been corrected so set up should be straight forward.

The usb connection to the back of throttle is what you see on a printer, the one i have connected at the moment would hit the lower eicas if i had one so im looking out for an angled version of this, i have seen a usb ang connecter,if not the base the throttle sits on may have to be lowered to conceal this.

The throttle does exactly what it sais on the tin and apart from my initial experience of the lever breaking the unit feels solid,levers move smoothly and i believe this should pass the test of time. The toga switches, autopilot disconnect,engine cut out switches,flaps and speedbrake lever all work as they should with the exception of that i use pmdg in fs9 and cannot get the speedbrake armed to work even via mouse macros, but from my understanding this is a pmdg prob nothing to do with throttleteks throttle.

The throttle misses a few things from others in the market but it is not aimed at that market, the throttletek quad is what it is, does what it sais and very well.

I am very happy with my quadrant recieved and would reccomend it.

Steve, I really like your little half-cockpit. I believe if I were to ever make one that would be the route that I would go also. It's not overboard, but puts you in the environment.

I havn't been around much lately,too much work.

Willow, as you can see the throttle has no trim wheel although i am going to add a dummy wheel wheels to it when
i get time.

To control my trim i still use the rocker switch on my ch yoke.

I purchased a hardwood offcut at a local timber yard. I then took it to an amater wood turner who cut me three round discs from the offcut.
I cut one of the discs in half and painted it boeing grey. The other two discs were given to the wood turner to make the trim wheels which I painted.
I then created the pointer scale in photoshop and had them printed onto self adhesive plastic!
I think I may have some of the scales unused lying around somewhere ... If I can find them I will send them to you!
Altogether it cost me around £60.00
