I was wondering what the real life size of the gauges are on the Tu-154. I am building a simpit inspired by Russian airliners and wanted an idea of the size of maybe 2-3 of the most common gauges. Any other Tu-154 panel dimensions would also be helpful. I am not trying to get everything exact but basic dimensions would help a lot.

Thanks.

Thank you so much for your excellent photos. They are priceless. They are the best photos I have been able to obtain for this cockpit. From looking at your photos, there seem to be 4 sizes of gauges: the very largest being the attitude indicator, HSI, etc, the second largest and most numerous gauges look to be about 7 cm in diameter, the next smaller size, 5.5cm and the smallest 3.5cm in diameter. Do I have this right? Also, I have been trying to figure out whether the lettering/labels on 154 panels were backlit when the cockpit was dark. I have been unable to tell from photos. Thanks very much for your help and thanks again for your excellent photos.

i think the dimensions are OK.

The Tu 154 dont use backlited panels. Russians used external lights to light the panel. All gauges have bulbs inside to light the gauge. The panel is lited vith small probes, with bulb inside.

The main MIP light is under the glare shield.
