I'm extremely pleased to have found a program which was one of the first things that drew me into the hobby of simbuilding. Many years ago there was a TV Program which i remember watching, unfortunately before the day and age of one button press recording i simply watched the program once before it was history.

Earlier today i was able to watch a video on youtube (which at the time wasn't invented) as it looked interesting and realised this was the television program which i had longed to see again.

Some of you also may have seen it, it's a documentary on discovery. If you haven't watched it i urge you to, its a great film which gives motivation, inspriation and knowledge.

Included in the documentary is flight sim legends such as Pete Dowson, Kev Saker, Matt Ford and James Price.

These are some of the true people that began this amazing hobby, and even when watching this you can see how computer and software have leaped forward even further to the virtual-reality we have today.

It's a great watch, its in 5 parts of 10 mins:

I loved it. I knew there were some model railroaders that are in this as well .. Didn't know Pete Dawson was one though. It's a natural crossover as many of the skills are common to both.. Excellent video. I loved it.

For anyone interested, you can take a look into his basement, this is a dream for most of us.

Surf around the website and you will see an amazing F16 cockpit.

I think I just threw an unhandled GeekOverflow exception. No words. How long must it take to accumulate as much hardware as that? I'm literally drooling.

That's the basement I want when I grow up (or, more accurately, when I fail to grow up). Albeit with better and newer computers - I guess some of those pics are a bit old judging by what looks like an ancient PC XT in one corner.

What a great find. It inspired me again (if that's possible).

Found myself having to get up and do some work on my sim then come back and watch some more.

Thank you.

Wendy that website is fantastic, you couldn't even begin to imagine could you..
David, this had a similar effect on me too :)

Please show your appreciation on the youtube video on the website also, as it only had about 130 views when i discovered it so it was well hidden.

Great videos.

BTW ... the first video shows the house in Stoke-on-Trent, England where Peter Dowson lives (or lived at that time). What is interesting about that for me is that I was born in Stoke-on-Trent (actually the suburb of Bucknall). Left there when I was ten years old. And like Dowson I have also been a model railroader.
