Hi everybody,

I bought the FMC from POLDRAGONET and would like to interface it to the OC keycard which I've bought too. And here my trouble begins..the keycard uses a 40 pin IDE Interface and the FMC comes with 22 pins .
Anybody here who has connected FMC and OC keycard ?
What do I have too do ? I've heard the OC keycard works with a 11x8 matrix..nice to know but I cannot understand what to do now.

I hope you can help me out.
Many thanks.

Hi Kai,
I went through the pain of trying to do this earlier this year and unfortunately you cannot use the existing matrix wiring with the OC key card, the Poldragonet matrix is something like 17 x 22 (can't quite remember exactly but I did map every connection in a spreadsheet if it would help?).
My plan is to still use the Poldragonet FMC with the OC Key card but will remove the existing wiring matrix and create a new one with tactile micro switches and ribbon cable to crate the new 11 x 8 matrix...
Hope that helps
Cheers
Mike

Hi Mike,

thanks for this bad news which I expected deep inside. Your spreadsheet will help in any way. Thanks for it in advance.
But anyway I will contakt Jacub of POLDRAGONET or Marek (known here as ALFSKY) and try to find out what IO he uses for his complete sold FMC.
Think there must be a way to connect.
I will let you know.

Cheers, Kai

Hi,
The standard way of interfacing the Poldragonet fmc is via their custom Fsbus cards...
That is what I am currently using but wanted to move away from Fsbus to Opencockpits.

Hi Mike,

I got a solution from the german board opencockpits.de. I wired my FMC with this matrix and it works well.
I thin it will help you too.
The only problem left now for me is to get the exec-msg-fail LEDs to work with Prosim737 and the offset $052C. Got no reaction.
Marty (Prosim737) has written a perfect working code I guess for the original OC-FMC but that don't dont wrk for me cause of the own matrix. But I got it working with FSUIPC offset.
Hope I will find a way for the LED to work.

Hi Kai,
This is fantastic - thanks for this post!
Do you have a photo of the other side of your solder board? I am just trying to work out the connections that need soldering and working out how the matrix changes...
The keys were mapped as below I believe:

Hi Mike,

the correct wiring you can see in the bottom picture. For example: You take line 1 from poldragonet-fmc and connect it with line 34 of OC- 40 pin IDE..or take line 7 and 9 and connect it to pin 5 and 6 of OC.
To get the full matrix you must connect pin 18 (POLDI) to 8 (OC), 19 to 7, 20 to 6, 21 to 5 and 22 to 4.

Happy soldering.
Cheers, Kai
