I am not sure how you are running it but I have been using it for years using FSUIPC's GPSOut. Sometimes you need a virtual COMM port replicator. I have it running on a remote computer - I love it!

yoss,

All you need is FSUIPC's GPSout. It works with lots of real world GPS software and hardware that use the standard NMEA 0183 format on a COMM port for the GPS data.
You can get it here http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html

Here are my settings :

FSUIPC.ini on FSX PC :
[GPSout]
GPSoutEnabled=Yes
Port=WideFS
Speed=19200
Interval=500
PosTo6Decimal=No
Sentences=RMC,GGA,PGRMZ

WideClient.ini on client flitedeck PC :
[GPSout]
Port=com5
Speed=19200

Of course you can choose any port, provided you keep the same number in the next operation.

Launch VSPE, create a simple CONNECTOR, choose COM5

In Flitedeck's Setup, go to GPS tab, select "GPS connected : select manufacturer..." and then choose "Generic" in the left column and "NMEA 0183 RMC/GGA" in the right one
Under that choose COM5 in the COM Port selection (or any other port number if you chose another one in the previous step), tick the override BAUD rate and select 19200.

Now you can launch FSX on your main PC, and Flitedeck on the secondary PC. You should see a red warning indicating that no GPS has been found. Launch WideClient, and there you go.

I to have been trying to get this to work with FSX > GPSout > Bluetooth COM Port > iPad and am struggling.. Here is what I have tried and posted on another forum for help:-

-------
Hi,

I've been searching but can't find a way to do this so thought I would ask if any one had tried and succeeded:-

I want to use FSX to send GPS coordinates to my iPad app Jeppesen JeppFD.

I have done the following to try and get it working:-

On My PC

1. Created a virtual COM in Windows 7 using my bluetooth adapter - COM5
2. Opened FSX, FSUIPC, GPSOut & set it to send GPS to COM5 (all options ticked - for now anyway)

On My iPad

1. My iPad is JB so I can install BTstack GPS ( BTstack is a more flexible bluetooth stack for the iPad)
2. Open BTStack GPS and it finds my PC
3. Connect to my PC and it takes me to a map and shows my planes location - proved the FSX > BT GPS is working!!!
4. Load JeppFD but the GPS simply finds where my iPad is - it seems to be using the internal GPS rather than the bluetooth one I have just connected to.

Any ideas how to get this working and force JeppFD to select my other GPS device and prevent it using the internal one???

Someone must have done it?!? fingers crossed you have..
