win xp 32 bit pro
p5k epu
engtx480 asus
e8400 at 3.0gig
ide caviar 300gb
4gb of 1300 ram
all defragged with o and o.
runs solid with games/programs

hi guys.

tried all 400 series nvidia drivers and getting blue screen of death one minute after fsx starts everytime. if no bsod....fsx completely slows to one frame per thirty seconds etc.

no tweaks, no riva tuner.

help!!!!!!

I also have Gigabyte's 480GTX but Win7 64bit. I had some different problems with FSX, but after installed MSI Afterburner to control fan speed i can fly normaly.

Your problem, maybe has to do with your power supply. How many watt is it? I think that GTX480, needs at least 600watt PSU. Mine is an Enermax 1050watt.
Also you have to take care how to distrubute the power from the rails to the system.

My psu is an 850 watt with four rails.

Just doing a full os re install now.

I will download afterburner too. When the card does work it positively flies at 30-50 frames with everything nearly up to max. Especially when I oc to 3.8

I'll let you know how I go.

Just let your system work without problems, ensure that everything is ok and then overclock it. Otherwise you don't know where is the problem.
