Hi,

My name is dion, and i am planning on building a 737 cockpit. I have been looking around cockpit.org for a little while and quite enjoy being here.
Right now i am just gathering ideas , do some sketching and browse photo galleries for inspiration.
My first purchase would have been the Throttletek G737 but unfortunately the delivery is delayed because of some nasty storms in El Salvador, so i am patiently waiting for it to arrive.
Im the meantime i also purchased the EFIS and MCP from Open Cockpits and trying to decipher the magical writings of the SIOC manual (fortunately as a laboratory engineer deciphering all kinds of things is 2nd nature :-)
Since the PMDG 737NG is in a holding pattern somewhere, i am trying to get things working in the PMDG 747, and until now things are going OK.
I stumbled upon a little problem which SIOC does not solve, which is the inability of the programming the CTRL+SHFT+0 key combination in the PMDG menu in FSX. If anyone has the same problem the answer can be found here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/967893

In my searches i stumbled upon adafruit.com (check out Conway's game of life!):

Does anyone know if their card for servo and steppermotor is any good for simbuilding?

kind regards,

dion

Hi Dion.
Welcome to the site. I cannot comment on the stepper motor, but I do have the OC MCP up and running. The manual was downloaded directly from their site and runs without any problems on the FSX default 737. I also have the EFIS which I have yet to get running as like you I am waiting for the new NGX.
They are a good bunch of lads here so your questions should be answered.

Hey Gary,

thanks for a quick reply. I deleted all the default jets, so now i am trying to find the right numbers for the leds and displays in the PMDG 747, it works in the panels on screen but does not repeat the numbers back to the MCP, i saw some other post here about the same problem. So I'll be studying SIOC for a while I guess.
