I have noticed that some of the Attiny2313 on the 6 pack Gets Hot while others are cold, is that bad for the one that are hot to be hot?

I take that back some seem cold to the touch while others seem warm to the touch. Also why is it the for example to have one Attiny2313 in one slot on the 6pack and it works fine but if you take it out and put another in its spot that 2nd one makes the display darker? I try to turn up the brightness and it looks like its on the darkest setting when i see it at the brightest setting. Just doesnt make since on why one 2313 would be darker then another, unless maybe that one that is darker is bad. dont get me wrong it works but its really dark on the display so dark mine as well throw it away or somthing. Any ideas? also i had two controllers reset there CIDs to CID 31 just by them selfs..... but other then that all is going well and i have radio stack that works except for 4 displays that i need to work on some more. here are some pics And in the end im going to seal this up would it be a good idea to put a fan in the side? or will this stuff not get HOT?

Hi, maybe I can do some testing on this to see what's going on.. I have a ton of experience with the 2313 and so forth, but I don't what boards those are.

would they just be getting warm because there on and working?

Hi,

the 2313 will be warm, but not hot.
The only situation i get a hot 2313 is when i change the Vcc and GND connection.
Is it possible that is happens in your tests?? Maybe a chip has a small demage the makes the high temp.

With the reset of CID i write you later a PM, i have a solution but they isnīt for public at the moment. It is possible that you destroy a chip.

K thats kinda what i was thinking they just getwarm because there on and being used.

And as far as the reseti was able to put that controller back to the CID that i wanted it to be and it works fine now. Also seems like it will reset a random controller. Like it as done it to some of the displays and then my IO pcb. What about the 2313 being Dim? any ideas on that?

Hi,

in the Admin tool you have a slider for Display brightnes.
The erros with the CID is, that some times the Power of the Powersupply isnīt enough, then the Controller goes to a mode that erase the EEprom part of the Chip. At home i will look for the right fuse setting.

K well i dont have a fuse one mine and then i can turn the brightness all the way up to 255 but its still Dim. Also i can go to the global brightness setting and turn that up as well but still the same. But when i go to another controller it works like it should. So there for it seems like it would be that controller is bad or something.

Maybe you have a small resistor on a conection, is that on the Displays with the hot Controllers?

WRONG choice of words im sorry they just felt warm not HOT and just never noticed it before so just wanted to ask. and that 0 Ohm resistor on the CA or CC, i have a jumber there instead.
