Hello

after many years of building, I知 finally able to fly with my 737 cockpit (70% functional). But now, i have many questions and many small issues or problems and i need your help please.;)

1) Which aircraft, or combination of different air/model/cfg files do you have to fly with a Project Magenta based cockpit ? I need for 700&800 series, please.
Why I知 asking: Until today i was flying with PMDG's aircraft, without using its panels and logic, but i found that i can't control the NAV & Strobe lights from PmSystems. Also i have read in other post, that when removing from cfg file the PMDGs panels, the aircraft have some issues (like slow spool-up etc)

2) Which CDU's TXT file is the best for the above, giving correct weights and speeds?

3) What have you done with Spoiler issue? Can you control the manual use, with arm and auto deployment at touchdown?

4) Do you have Standby Instruments active when on F6 expand mode?
(I tried but i didn't managed to make them visible at F6, but they are visible in other pages)

5) When battery-off (cold & dark cockpit) all the PM displays are dark, exept the STBY RMI
(I知 using ISIS -Integrated Standby/Instrument System) Should be also dark as I think it is digital, right?

6) Do you have bought RCDU? How it helps, improves the functionality?

Thanks in advance for your time to reply,

Eddie

I cannot answer your question but I want to thank you for asking it! I have been pondering over the exact same issue but had not gotten around to popping the question as my project is still way down the 'fly-me-now' ladder!

I'll be keeping an eye on this!

Eddie,

for some of your questions I think you should contact PM Support (e.g. Jonathan Richardson).

There are txt files for the CDU on the PM web site and there is one for PMDG. I'm sure PM support can help you tinkering with the file if needed.

Furthermore, I think you'll have to skip PMDG panels etc. just keep the aircraft and do the rest with PM.

Best regards,
JWS

PS Any news on the updated base scenery from Greece??

There are also some others questions looking for answers, so I made the post, because i need the others cockpit builders opinion, to what other people do!!

Fair enough,

as soon as I have PMSystems installed I'll dig into it and see if I can be of help. Never use the PMDG when using PM actually.

JWS

JWS, which aircraft do you use with PM ?
Default FS2004 737-400 ?

Other builders ?

Well "never" is perhaps too strong. But seldom lately. Usually default 737.
I have the CPFlight MCP which doesn't support the PMDG anymore.

Hi

I use Project Open Sky 737-800 and a slightly modified CDU txt file from PM web site. Works very well. If you want I can send you the files in a few days. Would be nice to have somebody else involved in finetuning it.

I got a hold on a 737 flight profile from a "real" 737 sim with power settings and nose attitudes and speeds (for pilot selection flight testes) and test flew the default 737, PMDG 737 and project open sky 737. And the POS 737 was spot on. I also had a former airline captain test fly it and finetuned the roll and pich response/stability a little bit.

Originally it was a FS9 aircraft, but without panels it works fine in FSX too. I have PMSystems, but have not tested it that yet.

Richard,

I'm very much interested in those files also (including the tuned POS 737). If you start sending these files, would you be so kind to include me?
I use FS9.

Thx in advance,

Hi

Here is my aircraft.cfg and panel.cfg for POS 737 and my slightly modified CDU type file.

My POS files is beised on their FS9 version which I updated to work in FSX, this was before they relased an FSX edition. I am not sure if I legally can provide my complete POS 737 folder. Also it would be nice to start off again with their FSX edition.

The panel file is version with no panel and a nice view from the captain seat.

The type file is based on what I found on PM web site, again modified a little bit to work better with the POS aircraft.

As stated earlier this configuration has been working fine. If I get time over christmas I will see if document the installation using the FSX version and explain the finetuning.

Hi

If you are using FS9, I suggest starting from a clean install of POS 737 FS9 version and then compare my aircraft.cfg and panel.cfg files with the original.

From memory I think there was sections in the aircraft.cfg file I had to remove/add due to diiferences between FS9 and FSX.

Richard,

POSKY is freeware so no legal problems i.m.o..

We are talking about a 737-800, right and you altered Steve Reylings v4 file?

Hi

Yes POS 737-800 originally FS9 edition, but modified to run under FSX.

No panels, just clean view straight ahead.

And slightly modified Steve Raylings file.

Will send you link for download.
