Friends

I am still at loss with opencockpit guages (Yaw Damper, BRake Pressure, Flap Indicator) I purchased a few months back. I am just not sure how to even start. How does one get this started to work? What kind of softwares do I need?, where do i find them?, which order do i install them ?, etc.

I am sorry I understand my questions are basic. But my reading into opencockpit website has only got me more lost.

Can anyone please help?

Hi Vybhav
Don't be sorry Vybhav! This is what forums are for! You don't give me much to go on here. But Im going to assume that you only have bought the instruments!

HARDWARE:
You need to buy the Servo Card (http://www.opencockpits.com/catalog/servo-motors-card-p-42.html?language=en) and connect the instruments to the card.

SOFTWARE:
There are several conditions that needs to be true before you can even think of programming their functions in SIOC. So Im gonna ask you some questions:

Have you run SIOC.EXE? Do you have contact with FSUIPC?
Are you going to run the instruments and SIOC on the same computer? If not, you need to configure network settings
Have you downloaded IOCServos.exe?
Have you configured IOCServos.ini (Read page 7-8 in this document (http://www.andare-ing.com/uploads//USBServos%20%28english%29.pdf))
What FSUIPC offsets do you intend to use to drive the instruments? <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Normal</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:HyphenationZone>21</w:HyphenationZone> <w:PunctuationKerning/> <w:ValidateAgainstSchemas/> <w:SaveIfXMLInvalid>false</w:SaveIfXMLInvalid> <w:IgnoreMixedContent>false</w:IgnoreMixedContent> <w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText>false</w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> <w:DontGrowAutofit/> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:LatentStyles DefLockedState="false" LatentStyleCount="156"> </w:LatentStyles> </xml><![endif]--><style> <!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:Verdana; panose-1:2 11 6 4 3 5 4 4 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:swiss; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:536871559 0 0 0 415 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0cm; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";} p.ACPBread, li.ACPBread, div.ACPBread {mso-style-name:ACP_Bread; mso-style-parent:""; margin-top:0cm; margin-right:0cm; margin-bottom:6.0pt; margin-left:8.5pt; text-align:justify; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; mso-bidi-font-size:16.0pt; font-family:Verdana; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-family:Arial; mso-font-kerning:16.0pt; mso-ansi-language:EN-US; mso-bidi-font-weight:bold;} @page Section1 {size:612.0pt 792.0pt; margin:70.85pt 70.85pt 70.85pt 70.85pt; mso-header-margin:35.4pt; mso-footer-margin:35.4pt; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} /* List Definitions */ @list l0 {mso-list-id:669411669; mso-list-type:hybrid; mso-list-template-ids:1688502516 68419599 68419609 68419611 68419599 68419609 68419611 68419599 68419609 68419611;} @list l0:level1 {mso-level-tab-stop:44.5pt; mso-level-number-position:left; margin-left:44.5pt; text-indent:-18.0pt;} ol {margin-bottom:0cm;} ul {margin-bottom:0cm;} --> </style><!--[if gte mso 10]> <style> /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Vanlig tabell"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} </style> <![endif]--><!--[endif]-->Make sure you have the software counterpart that can feed the instrument with data. This is not always a given. Thus you have an instrument, but no data to give it, using standard MSFS≤91 aircrafts.
