Does anyone have this? http://www.mikesflightdeck.com/mfdbooks.htm

Is it worth it to build your own instruments or will it be something beyond most builders? Any comments are welcomed. Thanks.

I have both of his books. I'd suggest his second book, because it more well rounded and is a bit less techical of a read. Both are pretty technical books though. Don't be scared of the idea of a technical book, because we're all here to help make sense of things too. ;)

His books pretty much are "the" simpit books to get though.

Excellent books, a builder can't be without both of them. :) :) :)

I have purchased my copy too. Very informative and in detail.

I have the first book and it is worth every penny. Mike has done an excellent job of designing the instruments so mere mortals like me can build them with basic hand tools.

Check out this thread (http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/showthread.php?t=14873) for details on my first instrument build from the book.

I have both of mike's books. I reccommend them very highly even if you don't intend to build your own gauges. There's a wealth of well researched info and Mike's writing style makes it easy to understand even the most technical subjects. Mike is responsible for my interest in building my own gauges, which has become something of an obsession for me.
