Hello,

as title, I would like to buy either TrackIR or CH/Saitek rudder pedals.

I currently have the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke System and am very happy with it. Also I am running FSX.

If you feel something else would increase my enjoyment then I am open to all suggestions!

Thanks.
Onur.

My opinion would be to get the pedals. They really increased my enjoyment of FSX and I can't imagine flying and taxiing without them now.

I would suggest that you make your own TrackIR.
See Here:-

I built mine for $10.
Then you will still have the money to buy the pedals :)

Definitely the pedals first, much needed for croswind landings etc.

that is a very dificult question to answer as i have both the track ir and saitek pedals.

track ir increases the level of imersion in the sim 10 fold especialy if you have a 3d aircraft. would find it hard to fly without it now. no more jerky pov hat movements just a very fluid look around.

again as i have the pedals its hard not to need pedals to fly GA type aircraft smoothly and with the differential toe brakes taxying is more life like.

my aim is to get rid of the keyboard and mouse altogether from my pit so hard wired switches combined with the track ir and a good stick and pedals were an esential purchase for me.

Thanks for the replies.

I see the majority are in favour of the pedals, which I agree with. But then what Jasper says about TrackIR is exactly what I was thinking, to have that fluid movement around the cockpit would be awesome.

confused!

p.s. I have thought about building my own trackIR, but if I did that I would always be wondering what the real TrackIR is like... Plus I don't have a webcam.

May I ask what pit or what aircraft you will be flying?

If it's GA then I would say both are essential.

If it's an airliner then I'd go for the pedals first.

Either way, I'd still go for the pedals first. I find it hard to fly without them now. Although they may not have the 'wow' factor of the TrackIR, they will add another dimension of reality to your flying. Then the TIR wil add another dimension after that!

HTH!

I like to fly GA stuff, mostly Baron 58 or similar, sometimes the old warbirds, and occasionally I'll hop into a 737.

No pit yet but I do have plans to make one in the future, but not anytime soon.

Cheers.

Maybe I'll have to sneak both onto the credit card and hope the wife does not notice!
