Hi

Got the above today, spent a while reading up and setting it all up but am unable to get clearance to take off. Every other aircraft gets off but me!

Additionally. FSX atc gabbling in the background behind VOX atc and I get the same voice for atc as pilots. They are a bit slow and then quick and then slow again. Running networked quad cores, so processing power not the issue.

Anyone give me some setup advice please?

Gotta get airborne!

Richard

You can setup up the voices for pilots and controllers. They probably are currently set as the same. I also believe the speed of the voice can be adjusted.

Did you run the indexer? Also, have you requested takeoff clearance? What is the VOX window indicating while you are waiting for takeoff? Have you set FS traffic to zero and set FS ATC sound off - I believe that is a requirement. VOX will determine the traffic and sounds for ATC.

I remember the setup took a little while, but it has been over a year since I did it.

Run through the training scenarios'. I also purchased the better voices from AT&T. Think it was 2 for $35. I haven't used it in some time but remember that even sometimes speaking slowly didn't help. Try using Delta 1152 instead of Learjet Delta 1152. Or whatever the default call sign is. You might also try edit voice pack.

Another thing, did you do the voice recongition setup within Windows?

Hi Folks

Thanks for all your replies.

There is only one voice supplied with it. The software is using that voice for both pilot and controllers despite setting the pilots voice to female. Sometimes it works, but the fem voice is very quiet I can hardly hear it. All the indexing has been done. I have repeatedly requested permission to take off (being at the right position too as directed) but keep getting message "not at this time". The FSX ATC sometimes cuts in and bleeds over VOX atc and vice versa.

Only had the software a day, and not even registered it yet, but seriously dissapointed and thinking of scrapping it and going back to FSX atc which to me, is far more realistic not only in the display screen but in terminology. I use FSMap and can see VATSIM flights on the screen and FSX does contain atc calls to these aircraft, whereas VOX ATC does not. Hmmpphh! Anybody wanna buy the unregistered software from me?

Additionally, the screen information disappears once you have replied which is annoying, and if you wait and adjust the coms frequency first so you can see it on-screen you get pestered by "did you receive last message". Doesn't seem user friendly to me at all especially if you are receiving taxi instructions, do the readback and then it's gone from the screen. Oooerr! Additionally, I find FSX ATC window much better as it displays frequencies as say 120.505 whereas VOX displays in idiot format which to me is harder to read back.

I always use call-sign Japan Air 1121 which fsx accepts, vox insists it is ja1121 (displayed as j a one one two one - harder to read and slower).

The sales description of the software is rather "adventurous" and overstates what it can (or can't do). Just bought Saitek headset for use with it too!

100 wasted really unless someone tells me that if you tick this box it will all spring into life, it's up for sale!

I'll get off my soap box now. lol

Thanks again folks
Richard

Sorry to hear you are having probs with this. Can't you get any help on their forum over at Avsim? Sent you a PM the other day, didn't you receive it? Cheers
Bill

Hi Bill

yes got that thanks. Just not had the time to investigate, although it would seem that it won't be capable of what I had hoped for.

Thanks for your time though

The FSX ATC sometimes cuts in and bleeds over VOX atc and vice versa.

Your setup is not correct if it does this. Did you turn off FS ATC sounds and set FS traffic to zero? I am sure that is a requirement. VOX needs to control the traffic and the ATC sounds. Maybe the FS traffic is conflicting and not allowing VOX to issue takeoff clearance.
