Hello guys.

Things have really been clipping along for my A320 simulator recently, and now one of the few things remaining would be the MCDU.

I really can not think of an affordable way to control the MCDU realisticically without using a mouse. I've looked at $3000 hardware MCDUS and also at touchscreens, but the cheapest touch screen I could find was $700 or so!

I can not fly realistically if I can't programme the MCDU without a mouse.

Any suggestions for alternates or where I can find a cheap touchscreen? I don't mind buying a used one as long as it's cheap and still in good quality.

Maybe not quite what you were hoping for, but have you tried FDS's MCDU? I have ordered one (basically on mere principle: I know their other products so I feel safe buying this one) from them and it should be delivered to my house in a matter of days.

Hi,

I don't know if you have seen this already, but the OpenCockpits MCDU is a real nice part to look at (and to use in the cockpit of course!). You find the thing on their website (http://www.opencockpits.com/catalog/mcdu-airbus-mounted-ready-p-257.html?cPath=22_63), and it costs €337. Not quite in the same league as what you mention...

They also sell a kit (http://www.opencockpits.com/catalog/fmccdu-a320-p-152.html?cPath=23_49) for €132, which you have to put together yourself, but with only some rudimental skills I have already succeeded in that...

If I were you, I would seriously consider this route!

Regards,
