Good to be here and glad to have discovered the site. I continue to be amazed at how much this hobby has to offer and how many helpful people there are who are willing to share it.

Welcome John, I have been to Sheffield many times, Over the Snake pass to Meadowhall mostly. Have a great time reading the masses of information on here ;)

Yep, i too have visited Sheffield. Meadowhall, hotels etc. Nice place to be. Been to a few seminars at the uni too.

Sheffield is a great place to be within England.. There are simbuilds all around you within a few hour drive.

Another Brit here, up the road in Newcastle. I was working in Rotherham a couple of years ago (when they had those floods!).

Are you building or planning to build a home cockpit?

Hey John welcome to My Cockpit.
Im in a small village called Hoyland Common just on the edge of Barnsley.
I have family who live in high green so Im in sheffiel quite alot.
Anyway welcome to the forum, plenty of fantastic people willing to help here, and tonnes of info.

Hello Everyone,
I just want to say thank you for all your welcome messages.
They are brilliant, thank you and very encouraging.
Makes me want to get started even faster now...er, though, I think just a little more reading around would be wise.
My wife thinks I'll be building a 747. I don't think she's that convinced by my saying it's only a Cessna!
