Thanks Matt. That was the first time I've painted anything that didn't closely resemble an interior wall. :D
I used a paint gun called a "Critter Gun". It's generically known as a "siphon gun" and is essentially a huge air brush. It uses a Mason jar as the paint pot. Amazon sells them for about $35. They're the _only_ paint gun I've found that will properly spray (ie. atomize) un-thinned latex paint. Run it at 80psi or so and you're good to go.

The spray pattern is pretty much circular and at "max" is about 3" in diameter. You change the size by adjusting the height of the siphon nozzle in the air stream. Make damn sure you wear a good filter mask when using it. The high air pressure keeps paint particles suspended in the air for a few seconds as you're painting. I created what amounted to a 25' long "shower curtain" to divide the shop off to keep the suspended paint from reaching the computers and other things I didn't want Zinc Chromate Green, gray or dark gray. :D
