Hi guy's i'm just starting to plan my next phase of build and i'm venturing into display cards, i've looked at Open Cockpits cards and they look great BUT i'm a novice when it comes to programming i've looked at the SIOC documentation and it look's a bit bewildering to me.
My question is (or two as the case may be) Is there a thread on the forum that can explain linking display cards up to run 7 segment display's and if i go with the Open Cockpits cards do i have to Use SIOC to use them?
i'm looking to make my radio panel and INS system for a 737-200 any help or guidence would be great

Many thanks

I dont know if there is a "link" to setting up the display cards, but many of us here of successfully got ours up and running and would be glad to help you.

Upfront, yes, some of the documentation is not as helpful as it could be.
Also, opencockpits provides some software, but I highly recommend using SIOC instead. You will find the the digits roll much smoother, and do not skip using SIOC. There is also plenty of code already written for you, so you dont have to dive into that aspect right away.

I would also recommend that you buy the 7-segment displays AND the PCB holder for the display section (usually 5 for radios) available at opencockpits.

More specific information can be provided if needed,
