Hi cockpit builders!
After spending 4 hours in the latest state of the art A32x Full Flight Simulator (this guy http://media.charlotteobserver.com/smedia/2009/04/02/19/3-20090303_training_01.standalone.prod_affiliate.138.jpg) at a reputable european airline, my eyes are still full of stars :)

In the beginning I was truly blown away by the visual...after a while, reason took over and I made the following comments to myself:

- very heavy anti-aliasing is used
- level of detail is much lower than FSX (no "autogen", some AI on ground, clouds are rudimentary)
- display is totally immersive: 140 degree or more view, from all angles (unlike the older FFS generation).

And that's the last point I'm very curious about, because to me that's what made the sim incredibly realistic.
When building a home cockpit, is there a way to accomplish such an immersive display at a reasonnable cost? I would imagine you need several projectors?

Thanks!
Gil

indeed!!!
By the way Nat I just saw your setup in another thread...I almost fell off my chair!!! Incredible! Do you have a website with pics/video of your cockpit?
Looks like you are using sol7?

that is wicked mate! Your display is to die for! Is it the one with 3 projectors and the sol7 software? Looks really stunning, acyually better than what I have seen in the pro FFS!
What's next, motion platform?
Overall, and if you are comfortable sharing this, how much would you say your work-of-art cost you? I'm trying to get a rough budget idea...
