Hey,

Lot's of progress these weeks. Take a look and comments and tips are allways welkom. Everthing is homemade!!

Next stage is the FCU (autopilot) If there are any builders who maked their own please tell me how you did it. I'm using 7 segment displays. Not a lcd display.

Thanks is advance,

Stijn

Hi Stijn,
I have made an FCU panel - just this weekend! Well, I've made a prototype. It's not painted yet, and it does not have 7 segment displays yet either. Here's what it looks like:

And on the reverse side:

Does it look like an Airbus FCU??? No, not really! Your work is looking a lot more professional than mine! But maybe it will give you some ideas. The main compromise on this panel is that I've been unable to find push/pull rotaries. The only one I found was £80! For one! Mine have a push facility so I added a toggle beside each one to simulate the pull part.

While we are at it, this is the Captain's EFIS:

I'm not thrilled with it myself, but on my budget/skill ratio it's about right! More pics on my website: freewebs.com/shamrock075.

Nigel.

Hey,

Funny, made some drawnings almost the same as your FCU. Just have to order the switches. For the rotary's i use normal too. The good ones are just too expensive. But I'm more interested in how to get the segment display's working so they show the heading etc.

Hello, looks like a good start. Are You planning to use Project magenta?
I have it and for a hardware I decided to use opencockpits IOcards.
They are pretty cheap and stable. Their iocard.exe program is quite easy
to program.
You can customize that saitek throttle to look almost like a real.
If interested I might find those drawing pictures ;-)
Here some ideas - www.airbusproject.suntuubi.com

Hey,

That's a really cool project you have there Markus! No I'm not planning to use project magenta you see i'm 15 years old zo I don't have much money to spend. So I'm using vasFMC. Can you give me some more info of how you made that FCU.
