Ive always enjoyed watching your project grow over the past few years. One thing that Ive always wondered about was the hot spot from the projector- is there a feasible way to get rid of this, and is it enhanced on the video more than in person?

Also, how close is the screen to your windscreen? I ask that because it looks like it's close enough to make the rain drops appear to be close to your actual windscreen.

Yup Joe I completely agree 100% with ivar. your project is what every builder hopes to reach with their individual project. The love and respect for the hobby and your dedication to the world of aviation is certainly worthy of the highest admiration and praise. many long hours and alot of $$ obviously went into this dream of yours and it does show. To all Fellow Pilots
Our crew is humbled by the wonderful comments you have all made and we feel very privileged to be able to share, learn and be part of this great worldwide community of flight sim pilots and cockpit builders at MYCOCKPIT.ORG.

Eric, the hot spot is accentuated by the video. While flying there is so much eye candy around you that you forget its there. We will soon change our regular white queen size bed sheet screen (initially used as a template) for a real rear projection screen which will eliminate the hot spot. Our screen is 12 inches from the windshield (see attached photo), right at the point where the fiberglass radome starts.
If your sitting in either pilot seat and look forward and downward, you will only be able to see up to these 12" of metal fuselage that are before the radome. Since the radome dips down you cannot see it from either pilots seat so it felt logical to put the screen there and to cut it so it would wrap around the sides of the fuselage to provide screen area for the entire forward view. The view is close but very realistic and helps me see thing better do to my poor eyesight, which BTW is the reason I was disqualified from the USAirforce Pilot Program. The projector is 11' from the screen and provides the large view you see in the videos.

Mike, I downloaded your video on my laptop and next time I go flying I'm going to try the LOWI approach after studying your video and you my Friend are going to be my Instructor and Check Airman on the LOWI Approach!!!

Some tips I've learned while flying this approach over the years:

Have at least flaps 15 out before getting to AB and speed down to 160 or less. 150KIAS is better. Plan on a landing weight of 140,000 Lbs or less. 136,000 lbs. is better.

As soon as you make the 230° turn from AB to INN and are established on the course, change the ADF radio frequency to INN (420)! Don't forget this or you'll never get the needle to swing when you get there. And that mountain in front of you won't move out of the way.

You're going to be very busy at this point so remember to trim. Keep your thumb on the switch.

Flaps 30 before the 180° turn and push in some power through the turn. Keep your speed up and don't let it bleed off in the turn. Extend your downwind a little farther than I did. I got antsy and turned about a 1/4 mile too soon. If you make the turn at about 130KIAS +5-0 and 30° of bank you should roll out right near the centerline hopefully with two red and two white.

Not all white as in my video.

If you go out a little farther than I did, you can keep the descent rate through the turn at a normal 750-800FPM.
