Hello;

DO you know of a good site to purchase 1.8 step unipolar 9v (very small) stepper motors?

The smallest stepper motor with a 1.8 degree step size is likely to be in a NEMA 17 case. This is 1.7 inches across the motor mounting face. I believe I have seen a NEMA 14 version, but only in product literature.

When it comes to very small stepper motors, they often have larger step sizes. 7.5 degree and 15 degree steps are common.

The surplus sources of stepping motors seem to be drying up. Both All Electronics (http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/category/400600/Motors/Stepper-Motors/1.html ) and Electronic Goldmine (http://www.goldmine-elec-products.com/products.asp?dept=1106 ) used to have large selections. Now they have few choices.

Some distributors like Jameco (www.jameco.com (http://www.jameco.com)) continue to list a selection, though not at surplus prices.

Anaheim Automation (http://www.anaheimautomation.com/steppermotorstsm.htm ) is another possibility.

If you're looking for a small stepping motor for gauge use, you might consider the Switec stepper motor gauge movement. (http://www.microcomponents.ch/products/switec/switec.html) It's a basic stepper motor with an integral gear reduction. You can buy them from several vendors on Ebay. They are sold as replacement parts for automotive gauges. (For example see Ebay item 220363347092)
