Hi all.

I am interested in building my own seats. In particular 767 seats.

Trouble is I dont know how they adjust.

I think that they are adjustable in
Height,
Forwards backwards (on rails).
Lumbar,
Armrests (do these adjust up/down in height too or just fold away)
The thigh supports go up and down
And the backrest moves.

Are there any adjustments that I have missed?

I dont really need to know the mechanics of it all, I can figure out how I am to build them based on the materials and parts I have available to me.

I just need to know possition of the adjustment controls and how they work.
There are some pictures of 767 seats at the AirlinePilotsHistoricalSociety here http://www.angelfire.com/il2/aphs/s3.jpg and here http://www.angelfire.com/il2/aphs/s1a.jpg that show black levers on the sides of the chairs. Does any one know which levers do which? What is the "lock" lever for?

Any information welcome.

Thanks.
Tom E.

Have a look throught the 757/767 manuals in the download section, they tell you everything you need to know.

Thanks for that. I didnt think to look at the AOM in the downloads section.

It gives a little information, but I still need to know where each of the above controls are on the seat.

I believe they are made by IPECO. $$$$$

Check here: http://www.angelfire.com/il2/aphs/forsale/forsale.html

They look like they adjust like the old Weber seats with the flipper levers on the side. This pair in the above link is only $7,250 US.

Ouch. Just a little more and you could get Brad's complete 738 cockpit.

Thanks Michael.
I will contact IPECO to see if they can give me any information (some companies are helpful, others not so helpful).

In the mean time you dont happen to know what each of the black flippers do?

I hope you can appreciate why I am not buying the seats priced at only $7250. :o

OK, here you go from the front of the seat:

First flipper is the thigh tilt adjustment.

Second is the recline adjustment.

Third is vertical adjustment.

Fourth is the fore & aft adjustment

Excellent. Just the info I needed.

Do the flippers just allow the adjustment by pulling them (upwards I assume)?

Eg. My office chair height adjustment is done by pulling the lever and taking my weight off the chair to allow it to come up or apply my weight to push the chair down. I release the lever to keep the chair where it is.

Again. Thanks Michael.

The POH doesn't say. I would think logically, they would pull up but I'm not sure.
