home made stringpot

Boys and girls,

A few weeks ago i bought a single stringpot from 737NUT. Ive opened it to find out how it worked. I then disigned a simple construction using bits and parts i already had. And i actualy made a working stringpot.
It has a travel of 70cm/27inches and uses about 7 turns on the 10 turn potmeter.
I have no idea if it wil work correctly on Stefs(Dnoize) and my throttle witch only has a travel of about 25cm/9inches (including reverse). But we will see.

Guys,

Stef has tested the stringpot and it worked perfectly using only 3 out of 10 turns.
I hope to make more within the next few days. And I will try to make a tutorial so the rest of us can also build them.

Some more details:
- It uses a 10Kohm, 10 turn vishay potmeter
- I used the internals (wheel + spring + string) from a ski pass holder.
- Shell made from 5 layers of wood
- Materials costs +/- 16 euro's
- Time needed to build: about 2 hrs
- It's the perfect "low budget" solution for people using real throttle quadrants

I finaly did my part to help out the home cockpit builders community...

Will post more info/photos when the first production run starts....
