I just finished a twin prop simulator, equipped with 2 Garmin 1000 alike systems. I have a few pictures to share.
I will make a little movie about it later.

Hi guy's,

Thanks for the posts.
Well in fact this simulator is a good example how wonderfull MyCockpit is.
Last year, june 2007 I saw a post by Magicaldrv about a piper twin cockpit for sale in the UK.
Two weeks later, I went over there to pick it up.
Here was the initial post :

http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/showthread.php?t=9740

Now 18 months later, after some intensive work, the cockpit is reborn in a new generation GA twin.

So I would like to say thanks to the MyCockpit team !
And to Magicaldrv, if you still want to do the testflight, you are welcome ;-)

If you would like to find out about the visuals used and other stuff, you can visit my website.

I also added a few pictures of the flightdeck, right after pick-up.

marnix, you did a great job on your 737 sim in the past, and again an amazing job on your new sim !

question: what did you use for the garmins ? Its not the simkits unit, selfmade ?

Hi Stef,

Yes, the G1000 is a selfmade unit. At the time I made them, Simkits didn't have theirs at that moment.
I have seen the simkits units, they are nice. If I knew they were coming, it would have saved me heeps of time :-)

I'd love to know where you got all the knobs and buttons from for the G1000s. I'm having trouble finding them.

WOw, looks awesome. I too am interested in your visuals, 1-projector curved mirror? I could use help with my setup, my visuals get overstretched wit the curved mirror, not to mention im having difficulty with distances.

Would you mind sharing a little more about your setup? What did you use for G1000 software? PM?
Did you use WideView, TripleHead2go, etc?
Which interface boards?
Projectors?

Thanks,
Scott

OK, as promised a few details.
The knobs used for the G1000 are R13-23AB05 from Farnell and EC11EBB24C03 dual concentric encoder. The units are custom build with a touch screen on the back. The complete cockpit works on Phidgets alowing use of different software.

Regarding the visuals, I use 3 ultra short throw projectors Sanyo PLC-XL50, in combination with a custom build aluminium screen setup.
These screens and stands are made by a specialised firm. I have tested them both with the TH2GO and using Wideview. Depending on the angle you want to place them in. My setup is angled by 47°.

I ordered the visuals double as the construction price stayed the same disregarded the amount to be made.
So I have a second setup available (all brand new including projectors) for sale for anyone interrested, this is a real bargain, you can find it in the classified section :

WOW! I'm so amazed and happy people are still using my original curved mirror design for their visuals, its a nice compliment :) I still remember how excited everyone was when I designed that lol Now it sems like a dinosaur compared to Nic and Marnix and Matt and everyone elses.

Thanks very much for the info on the visuals; needless to say my budget will only stretch to one budget projector. I would like to get as much side view as I can with one projector and curved screen without to much distortion if that's at all possible
