Hi all again. I have a question, the overhead panels from HISPAPANELS and Opencockpits are 3D panels, I gather they are wafer thin 3mm I beleive so I take it they have to be mounted on a frame? If so does anyone here have them, how would this work as opposed to other panels. If these are worth it I will prob have to order from Opencockpits as HISPAPANELS will no ship to the US.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
I have some Histapanals and yes they are only 3mm thick, however that is ok it you use a backer panel.
I use 3mm Acrylic cut to same size and shape as the Histapanel.
Mount your switches etc onto this and then screw the both to a main instrument panel of mdf.
Even FDS panels are done like that only their backers are made from metal.

Thank you for the info Paul, yeah looks like thats what Im going with, Unfortunatelly I cant order from HISPAPanels because like I said they cannot ship to the US. But OpenCockpits does. And its way way cheaper then FlightDeckSolutions in Canada even though its closer to me.
