Im looking for suggestions on how to add orange 7-segment digits that read the FS time for the new Chrono kits Im getting from InnovativeFSP.

What output and software is needed, or better yet, can someone suggest a very cheap route to get just the time output to the digits using the 7 Segment displays?

Any io solution capable of doing 7 segment displays will do.

Offsets are available in FSUIPC.

How about OC mastercard + display card. One display card gives 16 digits.

Thanks Stef. I started looking at those yesterday. From what I see, I would need to purchase:

1 Master Card- http://www.opencockpits.com/catalog/master-card-p-29.html?cPath=21_27

1 USB Expansion- http://www.opencockpits.com/catalog/expansion-card-p-37.html?cPath=21_30

1 Displays Card- http://www.opencockpits.com/catalog/displays-card-p-32.html?cPath=21_28

1 Display Card cable- http://www.opencockpits.com/catalog/display-card-cable-p-117.html?cPath=21_28

1 PCB 5 pc display holder- http://www.opencockpits.com/catalog/holder-displays-p-66.html?cPath=21_28

10 Bright orange 7 Segment displays

This totals 139.00 Euro or 176.60 USD. That's not bad for being able to have 2 working clocks and also 72 additional inputs.

However, Ive read that learning and using the interfacing software for opencockpits (SIOC) can be a very daunting task.

Comments?

SIOC is not that easy if you never looked into programming before, but after reading in and starting with a simple project alot can be achieved...but its definately not point and click.

On the other hand maybe someone allready made some SIOC scripts for the chrono's.
Take a look in their forum. Many sioc examples there.

Its also possible with the old scool iocard.exe program.
Alot less powerfull, but much easier to master.

I myself have been lazy and ordered the flight illusion chrono's. Just used their inner and made my own internally backlit bezel.
