Hello everybody! I've got a quick question regarding the Public Address system of the A320, and the FA 'Pings'.

Firstly, does the a320 really have a Public Address panel? Where is it located?

And secondly, I'm aware that the pilots of aircraft have the ability to sound a 'ping' in the cabin. The different number of pings would instruct the flight attendants certain things, such as to come to the cockpit, or prepare for an emergency landing. How do they do the 'ping'? Where is this button? And can anybody tell me what different number of pings mean what?

My understanding is that the attendant call button is used to sound the hi-lo cabin chimes for the attendants. I think that one hi-lo chime ("bing, bong") is used as the "sterile cockpit chime" when passing through ten thousand feet (in the US). I remember some years back seeing in the seat-back safety card that six-chimes indicated a water landing. :p
