Just returned to London from Lelystad and rushed to upload a few photographs which I hope give a sense of the weekend, which was amazing!

I particularly like the photograph of Phil changing his mind and selling Matt's overhead panel to the highest bidder ;-) (photo number 12 Matt)

Looking forward to next year

Hey all!

I dropped a bucketload of pictures in the gallery.

http://www.mycockpit.org/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=607

This gives an impression of the exhibits. There were a LOT more builders and hardware suppliers than the years before. This hobby is growing, and growing rather rapid it looks like.
I'm very sorry I missed the group dinner Sat evening, my wife had other plans.

Ralph, your pictures are great! Very good quality too, I wish my pics looked like that. I tried some shots from similar angles as you have, but they turned out completely dark. I didn't post those. Yours turned out very good!

Cheers,

Sander

PS nice meeting you Efe!

A shifty looking collection of characters ;) - Matt you need to control where your OH is taken, we (sorry mistake!) THEY nearly made off with it! You will be glad to know it is even better in real life than the photos.

Great weekend and fantastic to meet up with people!
More reports to follow no doubt
Cheers

Nice pics! Hopefully there will be more to come once everyone gets home, especially from the MyCockpit Meet on Saturday night. We had 25 people there with 15 of us staying for the dinner.

By the way, the first pic is from Saturday and the second one is from today. I know because the first day I couldn't shave or get my hair in order due to my car being towed and only being able to get to the Aviodrome 30 mins before the doors opened.

The small vertical A4 visuals you see on the table are photos of two of our recent Featured Builders (Ivar and Ian) with some quotes and their award graphic. The bigger A3 horizontal visuals are shots of the FSC TQ review and Cockpitsonic NAV/COM/Transponder reviews with quotes from the text. We had another one printed of the latter and it was displayed in the Cockpitsonic stand with their products.

Shortly after the second picture was taken (I know because I got my laptop out to prepare it) we put up another visual summarizing what MyCockpit, Inc. offered individuals and companies because we had a lot of people walk by trying to understand what it is we did.

Matt's overhead has already accumulated more hours than the sim its going into!

So many people wanted to touch it so the joke was:

Which cockpit builder wouldn't want to get real parts? Matt's lucky, because after this weekend his overhead will look and feel just like it came out of an A340 after many years in service. :p

Just wait till you see the reprobates photos on Saturday night, or perhaps they might be excluded!

Regards from a reprobate who just got back home.

Was this a flight sim convention at an air museum? What an excellent idea.

It was great to meet so many fellow builders of Mycockpit during this year's event. Also a big thanks to Efe for arranging the nice dinner on Saturday evening.

During the 2 days, I had about 50 people taking rides in my rig. I got very positive comments from the public, and it was really fun to see people's reactions during the takeoff, turbulence and touchdowns.

I have given a brief description of the activities on http://www.simprojects.nl/fsweekend_2008.htm
Be sure to watch the video, where Efe shows his flying skills!

Thanks Roland.

I may be showing my flying skills but I also show how inexperienced I am flying a motion-based simulator as well. I assumed I had almost touched down (being used to flying without motion and trusting my visual) and flared, only to realize that I had done it a moment too early and jolting myself onto the runway.

Never assume!
