It has been a big job but finally I have the overhead working with PMSystems and it is all working according to plan . The backlighting is using 100 leds and I have powered it with its own power supply which is fully variable so that the voltage can go from 3.5 volts down to just enough to turn the leds off.

The switches and indicator leds work very well, especially with FDS Sys board, which I can highly recommend.http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj281/bwillo_photo/OVERHEAD-FINISHED006.jpg
The volt meters read the voltage from the main power supply and the left hand one reads the voltage on the leds.

Now to install it and start some testing, especially with the new upgrades from Magenta.

Looks great! I hope it's lighter in weight than the 727 overhead. That overhead is a beast when loaded.

Great job!

Nice job, Brian,

Is the LCD panel made of standard PCB modules?

Looks like a neat idea to backlight the panel - with my MCP I made custom perspex panels for locating the LCDs, but the wiring was a headache - this looks a lot simpler, keeping the wiring our of the way of the overhead wiring.

Part of my rebuild project later in the year for EMB 145....

Thank you very much fella's, Paul the LCD are standard from Jaycar which basically are voltmeters. They are cheap and easy to fit. I use them to read the input voltage and the output for the backlighting LEDS for the overhead.
