Resolution out?

Hey guys, had a friend come over last night and try out some visuals with a Hitachi LCD projector with a native resolution is 1280 x 768. When hooked up, we couldn't get the resolution on the projector above 800x600! We tried changing the resolution on the desktop etc but didn't seem to work. I'm sure there is a fundamental thing we are doing wrong here. Could anyone shed some light on the subject for me please.

Do you have the hardware driver for it loaded?

Hey Andy. No I didn't have any drivers specially installed. I actually wasn't aware I needed to. The projector worked fine...but just wouldn't get any better than 800 x 600 resolution.

Some, not all, projectors have drivers that come with them to enable full hardware control. I'd check into it.
