Could you share your positive experience with USB Plug and play Radios, COM NAV TRX ADF.
Fast shipping, Hardware quality, backlighting, easy installation, customer service, realistic feel and look...etc.
There are a few suppliers on the market and it is hard to figure out which one to choose.
A radio stack is a major investment and all available info can help everyone to make a wise choice.

I use the Goflight VRP 166's (four of them) and they have been VERY reliable. Goflight has be VERY good with Customer Servie with me on stuff.... if you contact them DIRECTLY. (Do NOT expect much from their forum site.)

If the "form factor" of those units can be adapted to your needs, they seem to have the "bang for the buck" if you arenot into building your own from the components.

Down side... no backlighting on the text on them. But if you are going to "rebuild" them... maybe you can add that.

I have a somewhat "generic" pit... so the size is not an issue for me.

best,

............john

I've been very happy with my GoFlight kit, much of which was acquired through EBay.

John, I'd be interested to see a pic of your "generic" pit - I presume that it is not the brick built one in photo that appears on your listed website!

bryn,

Anyone not seeing my website will be "pondering" that brick comment you made above. ;)

Here are a few shots that I have posted here on this site:

Unfortunately nothing there of the GF VRP 166 radio stack ....which is on the left side of the center pedestal.

I used the stock Goflight panels size as the "form factor" for the physical panel structure of my pit....rather than the more conventiional aircraft standards.

best,

...........john

CPflight... absoloutely fantastic. Plug and forget. Only had 1 problem with voltage drop which was solved by their power expander. Superb quality, fantastic support. Can't recommend highly enough!

hello captains......
i originally bought the Flight Illusion Radios (5) based on an assurance from Mark that there would be a 'Gables' type transponder ready soon. 18 months later F I are still not making a Transponder for the 737 and i didn't hear anything about it being in development either
so i went ahead and bought the CPFlight unit. WOW. quality is excellent performance is excellent and looks the part as well. i was so impressed i bought an ADF from CPFlight which has now become my ADF 1 and the FI unit has been relegated to ADF 2.
the CPFlight unit has the functionality of turning on and off the Ident where the F I ADF does not.
so for my money, having both company's radio's, my recommendation is on the CPFlight product.
there's a pic of the ADF and TX 'in situ' here

and of course, they make the whole range as well.
have a great weekend guys ... ian
