737 Yoke

gentlemen,good day.....
i have used one of joe's control wheels to make the first yoke and it's panned out very well now the refinements have been completed. i've documented how i did it here at
http://www.737ng.co.uk/Boeing_B737_Control_Column.pdf which may just give somebody the inspiration to have a go themselves. works very well once setup in FSUIPC thru the BU0836 card. in fact in it's unfinished state, mpl330 and steveeverson were using it to barrel roll and loop my pit.
and being controlled by gas struts there's no noisy springs to drive you nuts :o)
the downside is, it's a hollow moulding which doesn't 'feel or sound' quite right. so i'm waiting to see what joe suggests for overcoming this. i have couple of my own ideas, but i'm going to wait to see what the professionals suggest.
hope i've planted a few seeds :o) and my thanks to gwyn for 'advice'......
now i've got to finish the covers and start thinking about a second one.

I had a fly of Gwyn's a couple of days ago and was surprised at how solid they felt. I knew they were hollow fibreglass and therefore expected there to be some weakness, however I was more than pleasantly surprised to find that they were very solid. Not sure that it wasn't partly due to Gwyn's usual robust installation though :)

I'd highly recommend a second one given my experience, and the price.

Barrel roll and loop!!! I think if you remember they were carefully executed maneouvers to test the handling charecteristics of the controls ;)
